The New TN Thread: The Flymike Haters Ball Presented by The Button!

do u evn lift, bro?

Yeah sort of like the guy who I work with that got the game. " Yeah, I dunno its okay I guess, played it like 10 minutes not as hard as everyone says. Pretty good though. " Next day " THOSE TWO FUCKING ASSHOLES WITH THE… FUUUUUU " Next day " DARK SOULS IS THE GAME EVAAARRRRRRR "

It ain’t dyin. People are just being real anti and only playing by themselvesDark Souls or online as of late. The Tekken players always get together and play. Whether we’re actually playing Tekken or not. Yall just need to stop being scared of black people. lol

Hey Dragon’s Dogma is pretty fucking epic.

Easy Mode Monster Hunter Arcade Edition

Hastings was great in many ways but it doesn’t help now that there are 40 different FGs and everyone is so spread out. Its like 5 people pay each game seriously which sucks. Back at Hastings it was Super and Marvel and thats it outside of random Tekken. I hope TTT2 gets new players fired up about Tek. #wishful thinking

Yeah personally I feel like I’ve plateaued a lot and don’t have that drive to learn and watch videos a lot like I did when I first started learning SF, and all of the new games I’m interested will require a huge time commitment to be even decent at (P4, TTT2) so I’ve just been working on my game backlog pretty much only playing fgs a bit on the weekends. I still want to go to Season’s Beatings though just cause it looks really fun.

Dark Souls looks like a legitimately fun RPG, and I don’t really like RPGs at all. I love how everyone was going crazy over Skyrim a couple months ago though yet Dax and Sev said it sucks lol. What makes DS so different?

It’s not “Just” an RPG. It’s an experience. Can’t repeat it enough, go buy it. It’s cheap as fuck now and the new DLC comes out next month which rebalances the game a tad and adds arena PVP, among other areas and enemies and loot and god damnit WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE A MONTH

I have no idea what this means?

My interests have actually changed completely from what they were about a year ago. My games now are:

Virtua Fighter 5 FS
UMVC3
KOF13
and hopefully TTT2 if there is at least one other soul in middle TN that will play it.

Did you get to the post game everfall area? That shit will rape your nuts off and force feed them to you.

Dying or not ill continue to do what I’ve done and just goto fight night and play once a week as long as there are people.

Shoot Richard, I’ll play VF5:FS and TTT2. People seem to forget that i play da tekken, I might have to come with a “Forgot about Dimo” rap.

Fuckin do it man, come to fight night and play some tekkens

I kinda agree with Jas here about fight night dying. But the reasons are unknown. Could be the venue to too far out for some people, the venue fee?, the setups. Not sure why it is. One week we can have as much upto 12-15 people on one night and other nights there’s only like 6-7 people. I think we should do a survey to get everyone opinion on fight night.

Its hard to be interested when out of the 15-20 people you have three people playing your game. I mean lets break it down by game and regular playing the game “seriously”

Marvel: Woot/Jas/James/Carl
SF: Squab/Woot/Kin
Kang: Me/Justin/Josh/Kin
P4: Dax/Rukus/Ernie/Dre
T6: Me/Derrek
VF5S: Me/Derrek/Ernie

I mean a few people can carry over and play other games but those people are not serious about it and you can bump the numbers if Bishop/Chris etc make it. But its hard to get hype about those numbers in the game your playing. Hell you cant even run a tiny ranbat in any game with those numbers

As for a survey go for it but take the answers with a grain of salt. When we were at hastings all I ever heard was
-We cant get hype cause of other customers getting butt hurt over hearing a curse word
-We dont get to play enough since its only three hours
-The space could not be held for us since we didn’t pay anything so card playing kids and random people were taking up too much space

I also did a survey recently on where people wanted to have fight night that were showing up regularly. There are 4 places that can provide the space/time/environment everyone is looking for they just happen to be in North MS.TG got the most votes

At TG you can play from 6-12, bring your own alcohol to drink, get as hype as you want, lag free monitors are provided for you, they were willing to do payouts for ranbat seasons. But you have to spend 5 bucks and its in MS but Hastings wasnt a 5 min drive for everyone back then either. O and I easily drove 45 mins a night to make it out there for years since FN started at PowerPlay, Cylus and Duckie were driving an hour and a half to come up from oxford, Woot was coming from Southaven as well.

If more than 5 people that show up regularly actually play the same game seriously it will help people get interested again. Outside of that right now FN is just a cool place to chill with friends and play FGs casually.

Severin hit it right on the money.

When you have TOO many fighting games they oversaturate the market and people become scattered.

It happened when we first Had MK and SF players, then in turned into MK, SF, and KI players. Then MK, SF, KI, and Tekken players. Then MK, SFHyper FIghting, SSF2, KI, Tekken, Bloodstorm, and Neo Geo/KOF players…

If you have only X amount of people playing your game of choice, it is going to hurt the overall “leveling up” unless you already have a distinctive group of players that were high level to begin with at that series.

Street Fighter was never high level in this state from back in the day, but Tekken and Soul Calibur historically are very high level, so it makes sense that with the same players playing Tekken still to this day and playing with the same groups, they will still succeed. Guilty Gear is also high level but mostly in Memphis.

Street Fighter started late here and the “original” players that still played aren’t playing it much anymore because they have moved on to other things (sans Eugene)

Most of our Fight Night is the same thing because there isn’t anyone “serious” about anything these days except for Arson it seems. There is nothing wrong with that but the drive isn’t there for many people and since everyone has work time has been taken away.

When this happened the last time we had to recruit new blood from colleges. All of the major players out here are out of school sans a couple of Cookeville cats…it’s possible to recruit new players, but we have to find new pools to get them from but that’s how scenes stay going for so long, new blood and the old guard will come back even when “their” game(s) of the moment die down.

Oh, and just a reminder, we have a tournament at Game Galaxy in Antioch on the 15th (this coming Saturday) with $100 extra to 1st place for Tekken (which is a $10 entry fee and $10 cover) and tournaments in Persona 4 Arena, KOF, and SFAEv2012.

The cover charge also includes free play on ALL the arcade games (but not the pinballs) including 3rd Strike, ST, SFAE arcade, the CPS2 18 in 1 multicade, Neo Geos, etc…

Hope to see some of you guys here Saturday!

tekken tag 2 will save us all!

long live ssf4! i will revive it in the spring.

Yeah come to the tournament Saturday, it’s gonna be a hoot!

Also, this.

I just thought of something (derp), is TTT2 going to effectively replace T6? I mean, TTT2 is going to have the same features, same gameplay, same characters, some updated stuff, and 1v1 in addition to the 2v2 and 2v1.

Was just curious
