Putting dishes in a giant ass dishwasher making sure the other team I work with have what they need to feed patients, or bringing patients their food every so often. Didn’t realize that would be an 8-12hr shift A DAY. Im either to tired or don’t have a way up there when I get off.
Most people are trying to do you a favor by not giving you too many details. The game just begs to be experienced its full of amazing stuff and oh shit moments. Its a third person RPG I mean other than that its hard to draw comparisons to anything else I have played. The game is hard it is not going to hold your hand for shit and you will die a lot. Though its really rewarding when you overcome something. It also has some pretty unique multiplayer for both PvE and PvP. The game is amazing and one of my top ten of all time easy.
Jas: The glitch issues have been patched out for some time and are not really a problem anymore. There is no more falling through the floor shit like what happened to me and squab. That was the only thing holding this game back IMO when it was first released.
Woot: I just wanted to say im glad im not the only one who didn’t like Skyrim at all. Fuck that POS game
I’ve watched one video of gameplay so far and the difficulty looks like a turn off.
I’m ok with difficulty, but not the “you get hit a few times and die from low class looking enemy” type of difficulty.

Don’t be dumb. If you get hit a few times by a “low class looking enemy,” you DESERVE to die. Until you get a hang of the game’s mechanics and difficulty, basic NPCs are INCREDIBLY easy to take care of. Besides, you can always increase your Soul Level for more vitality or get more efficient armor if it REALLY bothers you that much.
The thing that makes Dark Souls so great is that your progress as a player matters much, MUCH more than the levels do. Sure, you can wield better weapons, deal more damage, and take more hits if you’re of a higher level. But they’re more of a crutch for you to stand on than a necessity. That’s what makes Soul Level 1 runs possible (and IMO, fun). It’s a game about overcoming what starts out feeling like impossible odds- but once you realize everything has a soft spot, or a pattern, or a way around the thing you thought was broken- that feeling of triumph is something you won’t find in any other modern game out today.
I can’t think of much in the last many years of gaming was as good as my first playthrough of Dark Souls. I think the Silent Hills( the good ones) are the only games right there with it, right off hand. Granted, I never had any problems with glitches like some… But gat damn, that game is so fucking good the first time through, when you’re just completely clueless. Even after you get into the game and get good, the first time through still throws you through some crazy shit. It’s just the " Well fuck. I -really- don’t want to go that way " feeling when you are about to walk through a new doorway, enter a new area, see an enemy, etc feeling that the game gives you. The game is very hard, but it is very rarely flat out cheap, and the feeling of triumph you get from that game is like winning in fighting games: amazing. Although, one particularly lava-y and originally incredibly tough area was much cooler before the last big patch IMO. Also, I actually loved the universe, and would totally read any books based off the lore of that game.
Yeah, I am always all over that games nuts, but I don’t care. More people need to play it.
This times a fucking thousand. I would buy books, comics and anything else that tied in with Lordran.
I think if Dark Souls was set in feudal Japan or some shit, then maybe I’d be a little more interested in playing it. Knights and dragons are cool but just not my particular cup of tea.
Ill be on east coast for a while…see yall
I feel you, brah. All I can say is when its cheap or you can borrow it, give it a go. It isn’t quite as western as you might think. You can definitely tell it is Japanese developer the entire time, at least it felt that way to me. I definitely wouldn’t mind a more Japanese-y souls game, either. Actually, I just want another souls game either way.
I cleared Crystal Cave this morning (leaving it vague for fear of spoilers) and jesus christ you aren’t kidding. The first time I walked in, I Actually ran in head first, then screeched to a halt. I looked down and went audibly “welp, what the fuck is this now?”. Same as the other day when I got pulled into Ariamis, I was so astounded by the concept of the area I went “Are you fucking kidding me, this game just went there.”
Also, Toni (my wife) made a very interesting observation the other night. She said “Hey babe, I think this game has made you say ‘No, you know what, Fuck that.’ word for word more times than any game I’ve watched you play in the time we’ve been together”.
We’ve been together almost 10 years.
I just shook my head laughing, she was so fucking right. Fuck Dark Souls. That should be it’s new slogan for PTD edition, just like the old “Primus Sucks” adage.
damn… all this talk makes me want to play Dark Souls. Someone let me borrow it. Never played it.
fuck you git it naoooo
You guys better not be hyping up some piece of shit, or I’m gonna be mad that I wasted any time even trying it.
