Agreed. There was plenty of other people they could have had him play against. I would have loved to see the beloved Damdai or Afro Legends have to play Daigo first. Hey but at least Jason did perfect Daigo once!

Watching the Seth V Seth matches was funny as hell.
been off all week, but I would have to work today…we close early, so I should make it home just in time to catch AE finals…but I did wanna see dat Marvel…maybe I’ll get my brother to watch the finals with me…cause right now, i dont think he has a clue how big the FGC is.
I watched EVO all day yesterday with some friends, and Marvel was alright. Towards the end though, it really was apparent that top players love Task, Vergil, Zero, and Spencer.
Wesker is slowly dying off, which is a good thing I guess.
People still aren’t snapping Phoenix, and it’s costing them tournament matches… at EVO… after the game has been out for how long?

The worst part about yesterday was that SKISONIC WAS ON COMMENTARY ALL DAY. Literally, all day. From noon until 2 a.m., we got to hear Skisonic rabble on and not know anything about Marvel. Stream monsters hate him too and constantly wanted anyone else. I thought it was pretty disrespectful not to “tag in” another commentator for 14 hours straight, especially at an event like EVO.
Lastly, Eddie Mu aka TooMuchDamage placed 9th last night in Marvel. Can’t feel too bad about going 0-3 against him at MWC now. He repped the South well.

If you watched FGTV a couple a days ago where Yipes and F Champ had a ft20, F Champ complained to Yipes about not playing smart enough (and in general how stupid some Marvel players are). Some people play the match up against Phoenix teams so wrong. They don’t do proper TAC, TAC dash cancel glitch, or snap her in. Even when they do snap her in, their 50/50 mix ups are not good enough to even open her up.
Yep, all of that is true. Players want to win by brute force, killing each character in the starting order. The smartest players I’ve fought have snapped Hulk out for Wesker, which kills my team. Hulk is a terrible anchor, and Dorm doesn’t have an otg if Wesker dies after the incoming mixup.
It was surprising though to see no snapbacks from some of the “top” players, and they got randomed out for it too.

Level 3 Dark Phoenix obviously isn’t even a problem, they’re so badass they can take back to back 50/50s for hours on end! Just throw 50 quarters in the air and they’ll guess each one.
