Serious Question:
How do you tech Kings command grabs in tekken? everytime I get grabbed I just put the controls down and look the other way
This is beautiful.
Tech or break? You can “tech” certain grabs or knockdown moves by rapidly pressing 1,2, upon hitting the ground. Breaks depend on the grab. Main thing is you can look at the arms and tell sometimes whether it’s a 1,2 or 1+2, unless it’s GS which looks like a double break and is actually a 1. Whereas GS off the ground is a 2. But King has 3 and 4 shit too. And then if it’s a chain grab you can try buffering or just guess. In either case you should learn grab sequences or resort to educated mashing. If it’s not “true arm breaks” you’d have to get by on guessing from the situation or by luck.
That applies to Tekken though. Whatever “King imposter” has in SFxT, I’m pretty sure you can buy the DLC of a gem that lets you break every grab or something right?
You can unlock gems I thought, instead of buying them but I get the joke Soaring Mike is making.
There is a gem that lets you auto break/tech throws at the cost of 25% (maybe less, i didnt pay attention in the tutorial) of a cross meter bar.
The amount of SF x Tekken Hatorade you’re drinking is so entertaining to me. I’m still very unsure whether I want to purchase the game or not. I’ve heard so many mixed things from grizzled vets and newcomers…

@ Eugene: Eh. RAWR? I vaguely heard that grapplers were beefy in that game. As far as actual moves, if he has kick->DDT and it’s an overhead, or iSW to catch fools outta the air, then yea that’d be scary. Because it means that you can’t exist on the screen with him. But let me stop before people think I want to talk about that game.
EDIT: Wait, what was I thinking? This isn’t Tekken. You can’t duck grabs in 2D games. He doesnt need overheads. Ok, get raped. Carry on.

ok ummm…yeah. I knew it. I knew there was a reason the unknown force was keeping me from still buying this game.
The fact that Skyseeker Mike made that shit completely joking and there is actually a gem that serves that purpose is hilarious/ridiculous.
I’ll tell you like this. I thought this game was gonna be ass. Now that it’s out, getting good buzz, and I’ve been able to get my hands on it, I really want to like it. But every time I take a step towards fuxing with it, some whacky shit comes up and knocks me two steps back.
I don’t think I’ve ever been this torn on a game before. This is madness.

But yo, scariest thing happened last night. This is why FB can be a good thing. My gf randomly asks me why I was downing SFxT on people’s statuses. But before I answer she says, “It doesn’t look like something you’d want anyway. They’re doing everything to make money these days huh?” (At this point, I realize it’s safe to impregnate her as there’s hope that our offspring won’t end up future idiots.) She says she asked because she was gonna suprise me with it Saturday(my birthday). At that very moment, she said I gave her the same look that I did when she was about to unplug my ps2 years ago when she got mad. And then there was a look of pure fear. So then she says, “At least you could’ve had both Ganyew and EHonda in same game. To have a fat team.” Then I told her even they weren’t in, not that it’d matter if they were. She said, “Oh…damn.” Then we started talking about something else.
I needn’t worry of taint in my household. I’m super straight.

This is too real my dude. I’m just gonna keep messing with the game between Kang and AE sets at GG. Not ready to move the Bison scrillers just yet.

Right now, the only thing FG wise I give a fuck about, is leveling up in Kang. The inspiration of YUNG BLAYDE’S performance still burns within me like a Soul Calibur match intro.

Haha yeah they even introduce it to you in the tutorial. But like I said it costs like 25% meter for it to activate. Someone could anti-strategy you and deplete your meter on purpose by trying to grab you. Then you can’t ex or super or switch cancel. It also takes up one of your three gem slots that, when in tournament or online or versus, you could be using for more killing power.
Also, this is important IMPORTANT
Gems are banned. All gems will be turned off during tournament.
