The New TN Thread: Jaggas and Bingos all day

YOU SUCK OLD NIGGA. YOU SUCK.

(Just trollin b)

One thing I want to say, don’t forget DLC isn’t just a fighting game problem.

Autumn did a combo in SFXT today…it’s for babies! actually she just did level 3 thing by accident then she pulled my hair…

Being real it’s probably easier to make a comeback in KOF than SfxT there is no comeback mechanic in SFxT. Pandora is not great for this if they have near full health and you go Pandora to comeback you have 8 seconds or so even if you hit them there’s no Pandora combo so far that can 100% a character period . While in KOF if it’s 3-1 your last character most likely has full HD and 4 bars, since getting hit or blocking builds more meter than attacking, so you can pretty much one hit kill there first character with your anchor, beat their second character enough to build enough bar and HD to near one shot or kill their anchor and win the match I’ve done this with claw iori plenty of times, Shen could easily do it along with a decent amount of other characters. There are literally times in SFxT when the match is straight up over at certain point plus it’s got easy time scams. I love KOF and SFxT but I really like the fact that SFxT no one can xfactor, pandora, rage, HD combo etc and simply one hit kill make the comeback with ease.

Josh’s posts always make me tired because it feels like I read them without breathing due to them having next to no punctuation. LUH YOUUU.

Guys I’m not arguing that there is high damage stuff in KoF! Lol. Actually, who here was saying that SFxTek’s dmg was a problem? I’m legitimately curious, not trying to be a smart ass.

As far as the anchor having a lot of meter and one touch kills, etc in KoF - sure. But couldn’t that same logic be applied to the OTHER player’s anchor character? They should have tons of meter too right? So they have the ability to make the same comeback or do a similar high damage combo. They are the anchor character for a reason.

Lol yeah I thought I was making this pretty clear. That’s why despite the Batman DLC being hyped up I only bought Nightwing, and that was after quite a bit of meditation and deliberation.

Just like Uncle Chris taught her.

But on the real thanks for the dev cost insight. I forget you are in the industry and have that knowledge. But, have dev costs really gone DOWN? I’m not trying to be belligerent, but with as huge of a production as games are these days, i’d think they’d be higher, but I don’t know for sure. I guess my stance then is, ok yeah DLC is different than how it was back in the day, but is it the RIGHT way to do things? I don’t think that it is.

Yeah I might have miswrote, dev costs have gone UP but game prices have gone DOWN therefore the game companies need to make money somehow. It’s precisely why companies that were super profitable (Midway/THQ) can lose their whole company practically by making UDraw Studio, or Stranglehold if they don’t sell in what seems like a blip in time these days…

SRKFADC: I don’t know man, 1 jab can lead to 300+ damage with anyone pretty quickly. I know what you are saying, once you are winning by a certain amount but that game can be cruel on tag ins or launchers to tag ins…

So there is a super jump mechanic in this game…

What kind of one meter no drive damage combos are you guys doing in Kang? Like in the corner you might get some silly damage with a jump in but you can get over 300 damage in SFxTek with one bar starting with a standing short with or without tag out of the corner. Hell a team of Able Juri gets like 500 off a step kick and two bars and I have not been playing very long to do any kind of innovative stuff. Im not saying SFxTek has too much damage but I wouldn’t expect time out victories to last. Back when it first dropped Marvel 3 had a bunch of timeout victories and then turned into a one touch game. Then again damage is not any of the many issues I have with cross.

I mean its whatever play what you want I guess. Ima try this 2v2 stuff for shits and giggles I just personally dont understand how someone can play Kang, enjoy it then play cross and be like yeah this is good. But to each his own I guess, I was with Negro Brown I thought it was interesting to discuss it but it seems to be a very dividing topic.

@Kin: True Love We’re Making was awesome lol

Also Jas I’m really glad your mom seems to be improving. I’m not a religious man but I’m hoping for the best for you money and health wise.

I may be like a page and a half late, but I gotta say my worst fear for SFxT is coming true.

And that’s that it’s becoming Blazblue but with SF and T characters in it. Combos out of overheads… Corner carrying… Way too long of combos… Muscle memory combos to do damage… Etc. It’s just looking silly. I might could play it for what it is, but I’ll take it about as seriously as I take BB at this point, which is: learn enough to play it… Quit.

But it isn’t like that…

It really isn’t. Combos are combos, but they don’t mean crap if you don’t have good fundamentals. There aren’t any gimmicky characters like Seth in this game, so you just aren’t going to beat somebody who has better footsies than you.

2v2 in SFxT is the shit. I’m really liking the game in general despite the slow-ish links and muddy graphical style. Poison/Asuka is my go-to team so far but I wanna experiment with a lot of characters.

Squabb you know when Cody is released you and me gotta get some 2 on 2 Poison/Cody team action going. Team “Bingo! That’s a Man, Baby.”

GGs to raginraven, doromac, and rekncru

Just wanted to chime in with my 2 cents on the recent topic. First off, I want everyone to ignore the controversy surrounding the game. Ignore DLC, gems, DLC gems, Capcom is dumb, etc. Let’s look at the game in its most basic form. I think that it’s easy to get caught up the surrounding drama and view the game through that perspective, which IMO is unfair.

Mechanically, SFxT is excellent. It’s not really SF4, and it’s not really Tekken. It is, for better or worse, a hybrid. However, this does not automatically exclude it from being good. I will admit, I was a HUGE skeptic of the game at first. Severin will confirm that I talked this game down HARD in the early to middle days of its development. However, I can see now how well the Tekken and SF cast have been brought into the game. They aren’t pixel-perfect representations of themselves, especially not the Tekken cast, but they manage to still have that specific feel that is unique to the character in most cases. It’s a completely different beast than either of its two predecessors, but what child is an exact clone of its parents? There is something from both games, and an additional unique ineffable quality to the game.

Having said that, what makes it good? Short version: It’s very fun. Long version: It scratches that certain itch in the primal mind of most competitive fighting game players. You know what I’m talking about. For me, it’s like the first time I UNDERSTOOD stepkick xx st hp xx cod fadc cr.hp xx ultra with Abel. Not only did I understand what happened and why, but I also saw the inherent potential of the character’s gameplay, distilled in that sequence. Or maybe it’s when someone first grasped the attack/block/throw theory in Virtua Fighter. It could be as simple as the first time you realized, hey, if I throw a hadoken with Ryu from this far away, and my opponent jumps over it, I can hit him with a shoryuken!

Again, these are all very basic, simple, primal scenarios. But nearly everyone here will have one of those moments where they “got it” about a particular game. SFxT is able to generate this not only in experienced players, but in newcomers as well. My buddy came over to play it, and he wasn’t really hype or anything, but we just started messing around in training mode. He picks Steve. He does a few things, looks at what does what, and all of a sudden the lightbulb went off in his head. I could see it. He started talking about theories regarding possible ways to play Steve. We proceeded to have additional conversations about the game and how it worked, and he admitted to me the next day that he had considered buying the game that same day because he wanted “to test stuff out” in training mode. He’s still hype on the game and very open to playing it now, and he doesn’t even own the game! He too, said that it’s just fun.

Now, I know that no game exists in a vacuum. There will be comparisons and pro and cons. But I just want to ask everyone, hey. Play the game, try out a buncha characters. Try to accept the rules of the game for what they are, not what you think they should be. Now, if you’ve done all this and you still aren’t enjoying it, then hey you gave it a fair shot. If you can’t have fun within the ruleset of the game, then it’s not for you. However, I personally feel that there is plenty of potential for enjoyment, within the confines of the game engine. And that’s coming from a guy who hated the premise of this game almost since day one.

I found out what to do against that jab shit now. I got you next time dude.

So… my girlfriend made the most badass stick art for me ever.

I was like DAAYYUUMMM :open_mouth:

Only thing is it may require tweaking so it doesn’t print out pixelated. But CHECK THAT SHIT OUT DUDES!!!

Does anyone know how big the print should be?

Hands off my bitch dawg. Fuh rills. Lol. She’s got so much bullshit it’s not even funny. She just replaced Chun for the moment. I gotta keep Cammy though. Something old and something new.

The more I play, the more I like though. Yeah the stages are a lil over the top and the animation is a bit cartoonish but I think that’s what they were going for. Not saying I agree with it but whatever. It should pass the time quite nicely regardless.

Poison is the hottest man I’ve ever seen in my life. Yes homo. (There’s no alternative. “No homo” is non applicable)

Lmao, just admit it, you like the game because your mashing technology works in this game!

What? 98% of my technology is mashing too! EX TT fo lyfe!

Also, dunno if you already knew, but try comboing into Asuka’s EX upkicks, the Yun looking ones, then juggle with st.mp then combo into her air throw. Nice damage and sets up a hard knockdown.

The better option is to do the normal upkicks, then j.HK, st.HKxxOni, c.HK for more damage and a hard knockdown without spending any meter. Yes, I’m playing Asuka, too.
