Bama/Tennessee = Officially best States and Rivals in the SE in terms of KOF. Majin beat me and I got 17th, Good shit to him and Good shit to Shinblade for beating tops and especially Answer… I just do NOT like that guy.

@Memphis Crew: Very good shit at FR! We were watching and supporting you guys from the store all weekend. Jas did some awesome shit on the stream and made the other commentators look like trash.

Reminder: We’re hosting a SF x Tekken Tournament tonight at the Gamestop in Southaven, MS in front of the Wal-Mart @ 7:30. It’s a free tournament, but Gamestop and T&G will be supplying prizes.

TL;DR - GGs at Sevs, Good shit to FR people, Commentating rant, time to win a copy of SFxT.

GGs to everyone at Sev’s house on Saturday. Feels so good to be able to play again. Also, @Sev and Rukus - yes, I did beat you both … and I’m still bad … and Sev’s team is still DUMB. But GGs to you two in Marvel, that was a lot of fun.

Fuckin’ Dax … This dude comes out of no where with godlike execution and frame traps now … I’ve been away too long. Holy hell man you have leveled up so fast. Good shit with Adon, I dig it.

GGs to Anthony and dat Sagat. Abe, keep mashing EX TT, it works lol - GGs.

As for all the FR people, good job guys, really good job … On the note of commentating - I personally can’t stand Skisonic. Literally ANYONE other than him is better - even if it’s Juicebox on coke. Jas you did pretty good commentating on Marvel. Like Jan said, you split for both sides - no favorites. You give props to blocks and are quite knowledgeable when it comes to the mixup / mind games while watching. I think PHIR did an amazing job commentating Gear. I watched that for a good 2 hours on Friday.

I have to say the funkyp stream was WAY more hype and enjoyable than the Spooky stream and I think most of that was due to the commentary. I can’t stand it when there’s just dead air for like 2 minutes while you wait on the next match and the commentators are messing with their phones. And there seemed to be a lot of that on the Spooky stream. People need to take notes from PHIR and Jas about keep conversation going after a match, whether it’s talking about the past match - or hyping up the next one and describing the play styles of the next two competitors. Chris Hu does a decent job at it, as does Yipes (though I don’t like a lot of common catch phrases). Another thing I can’t stand is the commentators dick riding the “top” players. Just my opinion though.

Time to win me a copy of SFxT tonight … awwwww yeah.

It’s funny you say all that squabb because i was actually talking quite a bit about other things in between long waits for matches. Skisonic would sit there on his phone and looking to the sides thinking about gee what do i say next? meanwhile i’m sitting there talking about upcoming tournaments,games,pizza makers,totinos sponsorships,gus chicken,money matching old ladies for walkers,etc. hell i stayed busy and tried my best at keeping the audience entertained all the while keeping the language pg and still making it hype. i need to go back and watch the videos cause i think the marvel and also kof especially was some very solid commentating. You know i must have done something right when i had ppl constantly giving me props on my commentating and chris g requesting i commentate all his matches and one of the reasons he was on the funky p stream the whole time i was there until sunday. Hell they personally requested for me to commentate during the marvel pools and was the reason i dropped out of the umvc3 tournament so i can commentate. I tell you man ppl just don’t know lol but they gonna!

That’s one thing that annoyed me the most. Most of these commentators seem to feel the need to pitch their twitter every 5 minutes. I dont do twitter, but I am not hating on it…i just find pitching it every 10 seconds lame. But yeah Jas, you were cracking me up with the KOF commentating, especially with the Mr. Karate Pinocchio reference. It was great.

On a side note: I am gonna do my best to make it out to fight night tomm.

Every gamestop is having a pre-release tourney? You guys realize ME3 comes out tonight too, right? Gamestop is going to be hell.

I know only 1 of the 4 gamestops in this area is have a tourny before midnight. Can’t speak for the Memphis ones. There should be atleast 1 free copy going out at ours, along with some passes and stuff for fightnights etc.

Tried to mostly avoid chars that are already basically guaranteed a spot due to their popularity. This won’t make a damn bit of difference but it was pretty fun.

Shoutout time! This first shoutout may be surprising, but it must be said…

Crystal - Thank you for keeping me sane while I waited on Marvel to start. Just sitting there having general conversation helped keep my mind from focusing on hunger and frustration. It was also neat learning of some of Josh’s background, who he has played, etc. Hope you two can make it down to a tournament soon.

Pat - According to the stats, you’re TN’s top player. Very nicely done. Making it out of pools in two different games is awesome. Making an old man salty because Makoto whooped his ass is even better.

ShinBlade - Good shit in KoF. And yeah, next time, me/you/Pat will be the Marvel team. No questions asked.

FlyMike - We never got to do our MM.

Jas - Thanks for hyping up a few of my matches. Papa Smurf was too tired and hungry to make it out of pools apparently. lol

Woot - Okay, people must know this story. Woot and I were sitting there watching the AE matches on the projection screen, when a wild Blanka player appears. I turned to Woot and said, “Oh, it’s your favorite character.” Woot’s response was “Of course.” So this Blanka player was pressing all kinds of buttons and winning, and with each hit, Woot had a sarcastic remark to go with it. I was rolling. The best part was that the Blanka player’s supporters were sitting right next to us. They cheered like crazy whenever Blanka won the match, and Woot threw his hands and very unenthusiastically went, “Woo.” One of the highlights of the trip. lmao

Gram and Zach - Thanks for letting me randomly intruding to get some SC5 practice in.

Gamer D-Wreck - Dude, you fought me in SC5 right off the bat, and you fought Pat in KoF instantly. Goofy brackets, huh?

To the rest of TN crew that made it - Glad you could all go. Hope it was as enjoyable to you all as it was for me.

Oh, and I have to explain something to some of you (mainly Jas and Milln). In an SC5 match, I chose Pyrrha. Do I play Pyrrha? Not really. Do I hate grappler mirrors? Yes, because they are too random. I counterpicked for the win, and it almost worked out. Most of Pyrrha’s tools counter Astaroth, and I knew the frame traps and inputs for the main moves that stop Astaroth.

In Marvel, Milln saw me go into my losers bracket match without Hulk. Instead, I used Dorm/Wesker/Doom. This was because I had already played that guy in teams and a casual, and Hulk couldn’t do much because of that guy’s setups. My team almost got me the first round’s win, but he came back with XF3 Akuma. The second match got his lv5 Frank, which is easily the best character in the game.

I didn’t want you guys or others to think I made random, bad decisions on characters in such an important tournament. I had already told some people that I’d probably use Pyrrha or Leixia against other Astaroth players. Likewise, I already knew that I wouldn’t be using Hulk against that Frank West team because of the prior matches I had with him.

Jas, you know I troll a lot, but I speak it real as well, you where probably one of the best commentators of the weekend. And I’m not just saying that because you are from Memphis. As the others mentioned before, you kept talking inbetween the matches. All these slaws want to be “sponsored omg yes” but if we do go legit, and start having 50K or 60K people watching the stream with huge company sponsors backing the events, all the checking the phones inbetween matches and looking at thin air has to stop. James Chen does an excellent of job of talking all throughout as well as Seth Killiian. And Squab is so right about the top player “dickriding” Skisonic is especially bad about this. Any top player gets on stream, he almost bust a nut getting so hype. UltraDavid is kinda bad about this too.

My only critisim to you would be to say less “owwww”. I mean, I know its hype, but the stream slaws got annoyed with it kinda quick. Other than that, great job you hispanic slaw!

To everyone else in TN, good stuff kids!!! Even though Majin and Shin didn’t win it, this fat man still slept good last night!! And for Boomcube to get 13th out of 421 slaws was just as equally impressive. That bracket he was coming out of was stacked and he lost to what? The best Akuma in America?? Hats off to you man.

Squab, I haven’t forgotten about your FF7, been busy with life and plan on beating this dope game before gems and chain combos take over my life! I will hit you up soon.

Man just a few more hours until this SF x Tekken comes out. Man I’m very hype and plan on going all out on this new game. Going straight for top tiers. No losing in this one!!
