Ok really at the end of the day Duckie got 3rd at FUCKING CINDERSLAM not Evo, not Final Round but fucking Cinderslam I’d be more impressed that he won a marvel ranbat than dumbass cinderslam. I know we were heated and I was pissed too but at the end of the day this is just some small ass bullshit MS tournament and not a major. No matter what happen Duckie still had to win to get there and props for doing so but it did look fishy as fuck. Next tourney Duckie man just stay the fuck away from the brackets then no one can claim some shit against you, and Duckie you want a challenge I’ll take that shit see you at fight night fucker
Making money? Ok congrats. Glad to see people doing well in an unforgiving economy. But that still has nothing to do with the fact that you sound like a hypocrite suggesting that people discuss things in person when you haven’t and won’t do as you suggest. Makes you look like a clown to be honest. But hey who am I?
Gabe. Shut up. Chit, just stop posting.

Lord Jas: Ya if that was how it went then yes, it does not make sense. The problem is all of this points to the tournament organizers and not Duckie though. If Duckie gave the guy a bag of controllers for a favorable bracket, it’s not Duckie’s fault it’s the TO for doing it. Players complain all the time about brackets and wanting to be moved, so it’s nothing new (just like in Ohio) but if the TO lets players walk over them, shame on them, 100% TO fault.
Yeah, it sure doesn’t sound like you’re accusing him -at all-.
Love you guys in Memphis… but this shit is hilariously dumb. Quit being babies and work this out in person, you bunch of man-children. You’re turning this thread into a gamefaqs board.
Also, Astaroth… that pic is the best thing ever.
You ain’t gotta shit on a MS tournament cause you mad. Give them their due for hosting it and giving you an opportunity to win money at all.
They might not be posting, but I am certain that players that did go to that tourney are reading these posts. The Memphis scene is getting a reputation and each of you should be aware of that. Some of you don’t give a damn, but it is disrespectful. I just try to remind you guys, but it is no longer my business so I will just laugh without posting from now on.
GAUNTLET! CLAP,CLAP GAUNTLET! CLAP,CLAP
Really are we still on this subject? Let’s move on. And btw no one answered Mileena earlier and now she’s really angry about it.
The thunder god backs down to no challengers. I’ll beat that bitch until her teeth look like CeeLo’s
Hell yeah! Bring it! I’ll even up the ante and consider ALL of them ranbat challenge matches!
I think the SF4 ranbat is this week, but if you guys can figure out a way to do it without interfering, then let’s do it up!
Hello Friends, Negro Justice here:
So over the weekend I unrooted my phone so that I could upgrade to the most recent version of Android. I THOUGHT I had all my contacts synced to my Google account. I did not :(. I am in the process of re-obtaining the missing contacts.
If you all would be so kind as to PM me your numbers either here, on FB, or via AIM if I speak to you there with any regularity, that would be highly appreciated.
Peeps I need that I can remember off the top of my head - Patrick, Jason, Jacob Ford, Cody, Orel…shit seemed like there was more.
I leave my fellow music nerds with this if you haven’t discovered it on your own already:
Matt and Kim are the shit
I’m not making a reference to Duckie in this, just talking in general. It makes no sense to say that any sort of bracket rigging or whatever is ONLY the fault of the TO and no blame of any kind goes to the person asking for the rigged brackets ASSUMING that person knows that what they are asking for is wrong. If the TO doesn’t know any better or just doesn’t care or whatever, and the person asking to change brackets knows this and takes advantage of it to try to get themself farther in the tourney by avoiding better players or whatnot, how are they not at some kind of fault?
Holy Shit i gotta show up for the Fight Night now, its gonna be plenty of salt in the atmosphere. Anybody live out east and wants to give a brother a ride (no homo)?
Dax, you homo, why you pickin on Guy?
Alright, time to clear up some shit that went down at Cinderslam 2. This’ll be a pretty long post and I apologize if you guys have already “finished the discussion” but I’ve just now seen what’s been going down.
Alright first off, the brackets were VERY poorly run. Honestly, it’s almost impossible to have run the brackets worse than they were. Do I blame the T.O.s for it? A little, but I still have mad love for them and respect what they’re trying to do. Sometimes T.O.s make mistakes and as bad as this one was, we gotta forgive and forget. They’re just not experienced enough. I don’t think they intentionally did anything wrong, but I do think several players ended up getting screwed anyway. For the record, I got 8th place in Marvel and I’m pretty sure I went 1-2. Ish (Supwichu) went like 2-2 or 3-2 and didn’t get Top 8. Did I manipulate the brackets or cheat as well?
One of the main problems was that people weren’t moved to their correct spots. Mike went like 3-0 before he lost to Raekw0n. What happened? He originally got sent to 1st round of loser’s until he complained about it. This isn’t due to bracket manipulations or people wanting Mike to lose, but due to bad bracket running.
Another of the main problems was that the T.O.s tried to use their discretion to have exciting matches (so I’ve heard). This should never be done in a set bracket, but like I said lack of bracket running experience. I know for a fact that I got moved around at least a half dozen times in the SSF4 bracket and that Mike had hard opponents pretty much every single round. It isn’t fair that W00t got immediately sent to loser’s by playing Mike and I had two much easier opponents for my first two rounds (well, easier than facing Mike). Note: The problem isn’t that some players had hard matches early, it’s that the T.O.s were manipulating the bracket to do so (I assume unintentionally). Like I said, I got moved around several times and even heard this line: “Well you’re facing (player X), no wait, let me have you play (player Y) instead.” I’ll be 100% honest, I let them run the brackets how they chose to and I didn’t complain when my opponent changed from Jakob002 to some other weaker player. Honestly I was pretty happy I didn’t have to get sent to Loser’s so early. Is that partially my fault? Sure, but I figured there was a method to the madness. Apparently there wasn’t.
As for the Duckie thing… Well I just read Lord Jas’s blogpost and while I have mad love for you Rushdown, you and Memphis really gotta stop trolling us by saying we’re Oklahoma. Damn man that shit hurts haha. But seriously, I just talked to every person from Arkansas (Me, Code=Blue/GBS Giovanni, Arkansas Mike/ARK XI, Ish/Supwichu, and Rawkus) and noone said they ever accused Duckie of manipulating the brackets or even cheating. One person did mention that Duckie lost in the first round and was still in Winner’s Finals but if you check the stream, you’ll see that what was on the bracket was WRONG and that Duckie in fact won that game. There was just a miscommunication that made it seem as if Duckie didn’t deserve to play in Winner’s. Furthermore, if we take Duckie’s word for truth (which I have no reason to doubt), it seems as if the only “manipulation” he requested was seeding by location. Guess what? All of Arkansas asked to be moved around in the brackets as well so we didn’t have to play Arkansas in the first round. Hell, I got the exact same request from Memphis in the SECOND round at ARK III. Nobody wants to play with the people they rode with and I do not fault Duckie for this. And for those who said he talked to the bracket runners a lot, I was checking on my spot on the bracket pretty much every 10-15 minutes. Every time I went up there, I would talk to the T.O. doing the bracket and even in the middle of conversations he would randomly move me somewhere else. Should I have stopped him? Maybe, but it wasn’t my tournament so I didn’t want to mess with what they had going. And for the record, EVERYONE was moved after every round, it wasn’t just me or Duckie.
Real talk, you guys are pretty mad salty about the tournament and I don’t blame you. From a player’s POV, things were either suspicious or just shitty in general. From a TO’s POV, I know that a LOT of things can AND WILL go wrong. They’ll learn from their mistakes and as players we just have to suck it up. Here’s what definitely shouldn’t be happening though: people shouldn’t be accusing other players of cheating when they don’t know for a fact that that’s what happened. Have the courtesy to confront the person straight up and give them a chance to complain. And also realize what’s right in front of your face. How can you claim that Duckie was cheating when EVERYONE knew how fucked up the brackets were?
Anyway, mad love to Memphis, mad love to Lord Jas, mad love to Duckie and the Cinderslam crew. I had a ton of fun hanging with you guys and I just wanted to clear the air on the situation. I talked to the T.O.s and they were truly sorry for the fuck-up and I know it won’t happen again. People always get places that they (arguably) don’t deserve. Daigo didn’t even get Top 8 at that one tournament where Marn and Andre knocked him out of. There was no conspiracy though. It’s just how the brackets work.
Hey Dream, if you want I (or you) can talk to RawkusX of Interrupted Gaming and he can probably stream your event. He streamed our ARK III Tournament as well as Cinderslam 2 and as a T.O. I 100% fully recommend him. If you want a sample of his work, here are some archives:
ARK III (One of many parts of the ARK III archive): http://www.justin.tv/rawkusx/b/282881077
Cinderslam 2 (Two of many parts of the CS2 archive): http://www.justin.tv/rawkusx/b/286385515 and http://www.justin.tv/rawkusx/b/286398833
EDIT: Also, just to be clear, I have nothing to do with Cinderslam (in Mississippi). I’m an Arkansas TO that was just attending the event to support local tournaments. Had a great time, but this is all just coming from MY perspective, not the perspective of Cinderslam as a whole.

Take that offer up, Jason!
Squab, I might not be able to bring my system tomorrow. I’ll probably have to come straight from school which would mean having it sit in the car in the hot sun for like 10 hours. Not something I want to do… If I get out early and can bring it I’ll let you know.
That drawing should be made into a shirt with “I are broke” written at the bottom.
