I really hate Haunts. He wants himself and the fighting game community to be taken seriously, but then just turns around and bashes other players, games and whines constantly. Even on the front page of his site he is completely unprofessional all of the time and ( someone on the staff at least ) removes comments they don’t like or don’t agree with under their articles.

As for KOF, you just gotta play the damn game lol. On some real shit, I was getting my ass thoroughly destroyed these past few days. Very bad. I knew the system, I knew all this other bullshit, but I just couldn’t execute anything under pressure, even the simplest of inputs. Whereas a few others may have been ignorant of all the possibilities and just played to win. With basics. I flip-flopped between stick and pad thinking that’ll make the difference. Then towards the end of the little session yesterday when Cody was here, shit just…clicked. All of a sudden. And I got back on stick late last night. Been able to execute more stuff with ease now and even transitioning into HD combos. Not any of that combo video 100% nonsense. Pieces of those. From hit-confirms or punishes because I now know the recovery of my moves, and I got a good feel for my team.
You gotta play real matches in this game. Do a bit of practice mode only to get your staples and followups and some punishes down. Then play some more. There’s alot of cats that who’ve spent like 4 straight days in training mode doing 5 bar shit and trial mode. Probably even able to execute it 85% of the time. More than likely got a false sense of confidence. Finally play some real matches and end up dropping the game because they aren’t used to pace of the game and prob fishing for the 1 or 2 openings that they practiced on a dummy standing still.
Play. Real. Matches. You’ll prob feel limited or that you’re not maximizing your damage and shit. Fuck that. Play matches and get a grip on the fundamentals and basics. Fuck metagame right now or all these other terminologies. I’m telling you bro. Just get a feel for the game, get your ass kicked with your characters or whatever, and then go back to the lab and add on after every session once you understand stuff yourself and can see it. Plus muscle memory will be built guaranteed. You’ll become accustomed to seeing something hit on the first few frames so that you can go into whatever.
All these dudes that have been in training mode and doing trials since release are going to drop the game next week. Trust. Because they’re trying to overload themselves with stuff that they can’t even put to use right now. They’re going to freeze up and get ran over.

Like jason said,just play the damn game, everything else will fall into place as you learn the fundamentals of the game. Why you think I did so well in mk9 for the short amount of time I did play and I didnt even had the game? Cause I focused on fundamentals and basic bnbs and I think I did pretty decent with mileena. I placed top 4 at every single tourney I did enter for it. Granted I stopped playing the game cause all of memphis dropped it in less than a month lol,with the exception of 3 ppl of course. But ya in short mike sucks amd just play the game ppl and dont worry so much about combos and high level shit right now.
