That game at the time was the most popular fighting game in the US but I still will use Jax in MK9…my Jax might be bootleg but it’s still “my” Jax and not video copied =)
But yeah, to answer Shin and others, point being KOF will be fun but unfortunately no one will play it enough to keep it going…
Personally I’ve always dabbled in the KOF games super casually but I’m not at a level where I can say I am decent at the games…there was never any interest…lots of great games (like Virtua Fighter 5) rarely get played out here unfortunately. I’m not complaining because I like SF so much but it is a shame that other people don’t play as much.
The big turnoff with MK was all the patches that significantly changed things and you just can’t keep track…people lose interest. New character this, broken character this, etc…
Now as far as the UMVC3 thing…it doesn’t matter if there were only 13 people at the tournament…the guy that took 4th at the tournament in Nashville had won 2-3 MVC3 tournaments and got 2nd at MWC in MVC3. Suffice to say as a tournament player he was better than anyone in the state here tournament wise…Jacob Sparks got top 32 at Season’s Beatings, Astaroth is Astaroth, Bishop is Bishop, there were other good players there as well, you count discount the win for Shin because of only 13 people.
Who deserves more props? The guy that won a 32 man all expert level ST tournament or the guy that won the 256 man tournament with only 6 good people in it?
Not saying Memphis has “worse” players but I am sure the overall skill in MVC3 is more watered down after the top 3-4 players…that is why sometimes a 13-14 man tourney with really good players beats out a 32 man tournament with only 4-5 good players…

There definitely is a lot of people out there that say they can “beat” someone but everyone has to understand EVERYONE loses. Beating someone “consistently” is 70-30…60-40 means you are slightly better and that can change when people go back and forth. I can’t begin to tell you how many times people will say they can beat you even if you win 20-5…you have to basically romp all the time or you’ll hear it for some reason…
Oh and if you win all the time and lose a set once or twice to someone, the other wins are automatically discounted, even if you won for years and then win again more in later sessions…love those too, lol

SRK- It’s all good bra. Me and Majin was just brought up in a gaming community far back in my younger days where their wasn’t no smiles, no good games dude, no happy laughing, technology, advice, or even welcoming. House full of legendary dark black people that welcomed you by checking you soon as you walked in the door, get in your face talk shit to you for losing, distract you talking shit while game in session, people mooning you next to the television, getting 10+ streaked on with people laughing and still talking bad to the loser. They only used the HP and HK button( no combos or spacing required). Way more to it but thats why I react to people that speak bad of me in that fashion because I know no other way. That’s mostly why we quick on learning and disciplined players

Also Jason, I agree with you fully on MK9 being patched too many times. I stopped playing shortly after Rain came out. The scene in Athens, TN fell apart right when freddy came out and everyone went back to CoD. I really think KOF is a great game. I wonder why so many people will not give it a chance.

Yeah Tripp, the lag was pretty bad. That’s the first time I’ve actually played the game other than a few trials. And I had no idea that combo in the corner with Kula would work, just hoping I understood the super cancel mechanic correctly. About to watch Hugo. Scorsese bitches!!!
