For people who have never played a fighting game I can understand how that score may turn them off. All of us seeing the scores from the places that actually rate fighting games because they have knowledge all rated it high. A 7/10 isn’t bad either in my eyes, that’s solid.

Also, is anybody’s Tapatalk messed up? I seem to be able to access everything up till the actual posts on here. It never loads up the thread page.

Dan is based off Ryo. You can definitely tell from the stance and the supers. Takuma uses the same martial arts style as Kushnood Buttz if I’m not mistaken. Takuma is a badass.

GGs to ShinBlade, Rukus, Bishop, and Ernie in KoFXIII and UMvC3 tonight. We definitely were scrubbing it out lol.

Damn, this is more people than I expected to at least give the game a try. I will offer this tip though. You could spend all day in training mode working on combos, technologicals or whatever the fuck, but if you’re not used to the pace of the game it doesn’t matter. I can guarantee you that the shit won’t come out in actual matches while you’re getting rushed down lol. I’d say not even to focus on HD combos and really adept shit right now. Get BnBs and decent punishes down first so you can recall and execute them on the spot. Also know the properties of your EX moves so you can utilize them while under pressure or to maximize damage in combos. Team Deathfist aka Body-Rock(Ralf/Maxima/Shen) were sweating their asses off trying to get inside on shit like ShinBlade who is heavy into zoning with his “right now” squad(Terry/Kyo/King). But once they did…and I still gotta get my execution, combos, and followups down so I can go big off every opportunity.

Don’t overanalyze it, just know that the game is fast paced and rushdown oriented. No comeback factor except your own balls. Learn the basics and fundamentals, spacing, footsies, all those things shapes the round. So you can pick people apart but eventually everyone is going to get their combos down so that they maximize whenever they touch you. It’s still got that old-school flavor but this one is a bit more combo oriented.

Also, the SOLE reason they didn’t include spectator mode is because they wanted to improve the quality of the netcode. This same issue was even brought up when MvC3 first dropped, except the online still ended up being lackluster. I haven’t tried XIII’s online out for myself yet but someone said you could go in training mode while you wait in the lobby. That sounds cool with me because any game I play online, if I’m waiting to play again, I’m most likely doing something random like cleaning up anyway. We’ve come a long way, but would you guys rather have spectator mode, and someone sweep you from fullscreen while teleporting? Like MK9?

Dan is a mockery of the Kyokugen fighting style(Ryo’s version) while his head is based off Robert. Khushnood Butt trained under Ryo and is like a hybrid of Ryo and Takuma. The Mr. Karate DLC is supposed to have one of Khushnood’s supers from MoTW. Dude has cameos in like 4 or more stages, leading me to think that he might be the next Garou character to be integrated into a KoF game.

Fuck Rock Howard.

Leona may be my favorite character to play as right now, I’ve been figuring out some really good tricks with her. Once you get your opponent in the corner she can lock you down really bad. Try having your charge and throwing out the orb that sits out there for some lockdown or if they throw out a poke, heavy punch version of that can cover anti air, she also has that dive kick move in the air, work in the sweep knockdown to start the mixup again, jump ins, cr. a > cr. b > moon slicer? It’s the one where she does the slash but more of a vertical arc than horizontal, and lastly one of the best tools I found out for her was she has this hammer fist move that moves her forward while keeping charge. It’s back + st. B. The move is super fast in both speed/recovery, does nice damage, moves her forward, holds charge, and applys mean corner pressure. Think of it like Guile’s bazooka knee but better. Check that stuff out Shawn.

Wonder if I should switch out Kyo for K’…

That’s all I’m trying to do right now. Just learning the distances of my pokes, how the projectiles move and where they go, and trying to land short BnBs for each of the characters. Also still trying to remember the movelists as I forget sometimes. Once I get that stuff down I’ll move onto incorporating the BnBs into their DMs or DM setups.

Loving the rushdown you can do with these characters. One thing I keep forgetting is my roll I end up eating a few projectiles every round so I need to fix that.
