I rarely pay attention to this thread since I’m usually too far away to go so I was unaware there was a tournament going on. But I will be at Osan in November/December for a year so I’ll definitely be going more often.
I’ll be staying in Seoul for a few weeks. Was just wondering when the ArcadeStream weeklies were, and what day they were held. Also looking for any local arcades, interesting stores, or some people to hang out with.
Kind of off topic guys but I’m gonna be going back to Korea later this year and would an unlocked phone bought in the US work over there? I use one of those unlimited 30 day plans every month and was curious if they had similar stuff in Korea? Don’t like contract plans.
Stuff like StraightTalk doesn’t exist to my knowledge. An unlocked phone does work over here, and as far as I know, as long as you’re not buying a new phone, you won’t need to sign a contract, just sign up for service.
Okay that sux. I use something similar to Straight Talk so I was hoping they had the same type of services over there which would’ve made things a lot easier. Thx for the help.
No prob, but I’d say that contractless plans will be similar in price. Now, I’m paying like $45-ish for a plan with unlimited talk & text + 3GB data on KT. I’m on contract, so I tacked on about $30 extra a month for my phone. So it’s reasonable TBH, FAR better than going through the big 3 in America does you.
If you got the Straight Talk special, like Unlimited Talk & Text + 1GB data, it’d run you far less than you’d pay for it on Straight Talk or the other ones.
The only thing, and I totally forgot about this, but MAKE DAMN SURE your phone is able to do CDMA unlocked. You should be fine though if you have an unlocked phone in this day and age.
CDMA not GSM? Ok I have a GSM phone now so that’s a huge detail, thx for that. Guess I gotta get a new phone before I leave. Really helpful info, thx again bro.
