I still prefer RBS. But I’m getting used to RB2.
But I want my Kim chain-linking back, darn-it!
Other than that and this Radio Shack converter dot letting me do reverse half-circles, I think I’m adapting pretty well.
I say that now anyway. Watch me hop into chat in a second and get beaten down quite quickly.
Ordered parts today for a keyboard encoder card and parts. So hopefully in a week I’ll have a working stick. Probably won’t be the best looking thing in the world.
And great matches with Ghostpilot! I now think Franco is one of Tung’s harder matchups since he can space him out so well - you can wait outside the range of my best pokes and punish with a sweep or Barom Punch.
I’ve been playing Franco a little bit lately and found something you should probably use a little more: After a sweep, do a meaty Zapper then follow up with a Barom Punch. Meaty Zapper actually gives you a bit of frame advantage, so you will only lose to invincible moves. It’s useful against people who won’t fall for high/low games on wakeup.
One thing I can say is that the Damdai client works great for this game, and I’m getting some of the best matches I’ve ever had in this. I’m getting pushed by others for the first time in a while. Hopefully it translates into offline as well.
Pretty much all RB2 comp except for Ghosty has moved over there now- though more people are needed- no excuse for many of you guys not to learn this- this is a fun and pretty good game.
I agree with Josh and Arstal that 2DF is good. I’m usually in the snk channel (on mIRC #srksnk) so if people wanna play just hit me up there. See you guys around.
And his P-Power was changed from his flipping club
to what is a weird spinning move where the joints separate and circle around, flaming, before he hits the ground with it. If it hits the opponent, the opponent’s flameing animation happens.
Overall though? He doesn’t feel near as powerful. Which I guess is a good thing.
Disagree with quite a bit of this honestly. My list would look something more like…
A: Rick, Geese, Kim
A-: Chonshu, Yamazaki, Terry, Hon-Fu, Franco
B+: Bob (w/ infinite), Krauser, Xiangfei
B: Sokaku, Chonrei, Tung, Billy, Bob (w/o infinite), Andy
B-: Joe, Mai, Laurence, Duck
C+: Mary, Cheng
I think the matchups are closer together in this game than most others, really. Hard to think of anything that would even qualify as 7-3 material…
And very GGs to everyone I’ve played lately, glad to see some activity for this game! And Humbag, thanks for the compliments, but Yor’s Sokaku still probably beats mine. Hey, there’s someone else we need to get on 2DF, come to think of it!

Keep in mind we suck at this game and only have been playign for about 3 weeks.
Honestly I haven’t played this game long. But from what I’ve seen, I’d move Rick to A- and Chonshu to A. That little fucker has vega-like cross-ups vs. wakeup, and tiny wholes in his rushdown.
P.S. This game is tons of fun. Even if it is stupid
The only way we can really get definitive rankings would be to do polling like their is on college football, have everyone who’s a legit player rank from 1-22. Won’t happen though.
Rick I had just below that top 4, at the very top of mid, so moving him up I don’t disagree with. Yama as well I agree with.
I do think Terry/Hon-Fu/Franco a smidgen below Rick and Yama, though not by much.
Tung definitely needs to be moved down, there’s only one real way to play him, and a lot of chars can counter that by turtling.
There’s only one way Franco can play, as well. He can poke some characters, just like Tung can put together a little bit of rushdown, but that’s not what makes them win. So why would Tung be so much worse, especially in an engine that favors defense more than most?
And actually, the proper way to go about this would be a community matchup chart. That’s what my lists are based on - I consider Franco A- since he does perfectly fine against most of the high tier (only Kim & Yama are truly bad for him), for instance.
