The NEW Real Bout 2 Thread! IRC Matchmaking: #srksnk on EFNet! GOGOGO!

I have only done the max one with auto fire on my hrap lol.

I think you have to press C exactly 13 times or whatever for the max version. Try to place 2 or even 3 fingers on the C button and alternate them for mashing.

i just can’t do the A+B+C input at the end of the super :frowning:

anyway as far as RB2 vs RBS, well it’s up to you, there’s no better way to judge then for yourself. both games are old so it doesn’ matter what you choose, and because you can usually find someone to play online in either one

So apparently people think I’m like some sort of god at this game or something. If that’s true, L-O-L.

Ghostpilot/Mr.Big is seriously a beast, some of you guys have no idea. Yeah he’s an online head, but even in a real tournament I honestly like him over me or anyone else for that matter. He gets in your face and moves around like crazy (when I talk about smart use of the line shift, he’s the example I think of) and just generally confuses the living hell out of you - probably explains why he plays characters like Franco & Chonshu & Mary! He’s also very solid on defense and knows when not to force things. Plays a ton of characters decently, even.

God 2.0 also used to beat the crap out of me, though we have not played in quite awhile. He may be Norwegian, but he’s a classic East Coast player: Extremely smart & patient. He also knows how to work in the throws, which is especially important since his main characters are Geese & Krauser. He also uses a lot of characters well.

And though I give arstal tons of shit on the forums, he’s also a very solid opponent who again tends toward the defensive side of things; that’s part of the nature of Real Bout. If you wanna see some quality Hon-Fu, Chonrei, & Cheng, he’s your man.

Seriously, people, if you haven’t gotten to play any of them yet, it’s well worth signing up on 2DF and going on IRC for the opportunity; they’re pretty much the reason I’m any good at all. I know the tendency on SRK is to write off people who haven’t been to big tournaments, but these guys are no Emils!

Looking back at this thread, it does look like I just completely brush them off over the course of our arguments, and that was definitely not my intention. The thing guys need to understand is that I attack people’s ideas all the time, but that does not mean I am attacking the person. My general point over the course of this thread is that some of the SNK old-schoolers tend to shy away from turtling/runaway strategies and don’t seem fond of spamming one move a lot, when these are perfectly viable tactics in this and other games. I should be a bit more respectful about it, however, and for that I apologize.

With much respect and thanks,
Josh.

Also, we need to start linking 2DF replays in here! Post whatever good shit you’ve got. =)

Not only will Ghostpilot/Mr.Big defeat you easily and help you learn. He’ll do it using
the “Black Magic” that is his N64 controller!

WRRaaa!!

No, I’m not kidding. Dude really uses an N64 controller!
Though it is set to change soon if it hasn’t in the past few days.

To be fair, he isn’t limited to Chonshu, Mary, and Franco.
He’s also picked up Chonrei, Rick, and I think even Cheng!

I have to put more time into 2 myself.
I’m tired of being the punching bag of every rushdown, transplanted Vanessa
player out there. And I’m not going to be able to adjust only playing Special.

That’s not to say I still don’t prefer Special to 2. Because I do.
But it’s not as if I have competition offline outside the CPU.

Also guys it may not happen this year, but as RB2 grows and my bank account grows I do intend on sponsoring Ghostpilot to an EVO World or Final Round (since thats closer) for Real Bout 2…

Ever feel like you’ve been ditched?
Like, everyone else goes to Dunkin Donuts and doesn’t tell you?

That’s just what happened to me.

What the heck?

netsplit.

Ah. I see.
Do I just log-off and rejoin?
EDIT: Nope, rejoining takes me to the same place. Me and Dandy-J.
Idling in chat for all eternity.

Or do I wait for the server re-link?

EDIT:
What do I do to find out where it spit out everyone else?

EDIT2: Found 'em! Yay!

You just wait.

Or they all could secretly hate you and have left to join the Super Adventure Club’s new SNK server.

Told X-Chat2 to connect to a specific server and found 'em.

Though, thanks for festering that particular fear. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately, and even though I understand that spam/repetitive tactics are viable at high level in pretty much any game, that shit is boring and annoying to watch or fight against. That’s how I feel, at least, and I don’t think that’s gonna change anytime soon. I will accept that players can and will play in that manner, I just really dislike it.

You’re thinking of picking up RB2? Would be nice to have another good local player.

If I can find a copy of Battle Archives 2 somewhere around here, I might give it a shot. Definitely a lot of interesting characters in the FF series.

Well like Josh, I am one about expressing my opinions…

I don’t attack the person at all…I attack the idea…

Its not about what you all enjoy watching…its about what wins…

Hell I dont like watching Big-Kim in NGBC but if that gets the job done so be it…I hate with a passion watching cookie cutter American Gato Leader in KOFXI :annoy: Hence I will never play him…

When money is on the line all that matters is winning…

As Alex Valle said, if you aint top three who the fuck are you??

I’m creative in how I play my characters in fighting games, but sometimes I gotta throw all that out and just stick to what works…and if I gotta to get that win I will…

I know the Greensboro Gamestop had it. Best bet is 2DF for learning it though- actual Real comp.

I think the RB series is nice because it has things for both new-school and old-school gamers, you need a bit of both to succeed.

This is a lie.

I acknowledge this. You’ve seen me play Kim. If that’s what works, I’ll do it. But of course, if it dominates the game, I usually opt not to play that game. Hence why I don’t like Coliseum sometimes.

Where did I say I didn’t want to win?

I just think that shit is boring.

This is one of the reasons I still play GG, I feel that there is room for everyone as far as what style you prefer. Games that come down to repetitive crap, I avoid.

I feel the exact same way, yet we have vastly different opinions on what games are repeititive.

This is because you don’t play GG. A person who does not play GG much at all versus someone who actually plays GG quite a bit = the person who doesn’t play is not going to have any fun. At all.

That’s one point where I will not argue with you, GG has a lot of initial time investment before you can get to the actual gameplay. This doesn’t make the game repetitive, though. It only seems that way because you don’t know how to stop someone from doing that to you.
