The New Omaha, NE Thread - Now we're better than Ryu's U2!

Ima hold onto my response to that. I will wait until I become the 2x in a row champ…then I will let ya know wasup!

GREY SCARF!!!

Yo when you get here in Lincoln hit me up on here, cuz there aint any1 I know close enough around to get some good practice in.

Oh damn, getting my PS2 stick today. Who’s down for Guilty this weekend?

I’m very passionate about video games, the scene, and giving props when props are due, but don’t balme it on “the fan boy”. that one particular person recently has been winning the tourneys lately while you’ve never even placed in the top three. you can’t blame the fan boy for that either…

I’ve been at FFC since 2001. actually, longer than that if you wanna get technical, but in regards to tourneys, yea, 2001.

last time I looked, I’ve played Tekken 1,2,3, Tag, and 4, but never competitively. I just so happen to had a girl at the time that only played tekken back in the day so…

oh snaps! you played 5? fo’ realz on the realz?! that’s excellent. congratulations. :woot:

if you gotta ask who Cam is then kill yo’ self.

I’m just wondering what the hell did $5 have to do with you loosing? Was it really bad habits or bad credit? I’m confused…

So you need more motivation? Someone to light the fire under your ass and make you perform better? Buy some red bull, I guess, or should I sit back in the cut and chant “come on, McValue meal!!!”

Regardless of what you thought about me that’s not my intent. If I came off as disrespectful speaking about a game that you have never seen me play then sir, I apologize. If I “should’nt” voice an opinion on entry fee’s then, hey, I apologize for that too. I have no problem with that, but don’t ever again confuse my comments as being fanboy-ish. Even if I was playing against you I’d still be a fan, but not of a single person. I’m a fan of the scene. the whole fighting game environment.

I grew up playing this shit, and I always will love to play this shit… when I’m able to. you don’t know what’s happen to me in the last 2 years. I’ve been injured in a car accident that’s effected me physically and mentally. I can still play but I get worn out easily. that’s why you might see me only playing puzzle fighter @ FFC. that shit don’t require me to false roman cancel anything or whatever that is above average style of game play. then on top of that, I don’t have the time to consistently train like I use to, but that’s life.

I’m talkin’ about this.

I noticed by the Puzzle Fighter cab if you walk like 3 more steps north towards the pool area there’s a cab with a screen with but no arcade stick setup… I wonder if that was the old MvsC2 cab… well, I would love to see FFC do something with that. You could easily get another screen, prep that cab back up, and put something on that or something, I don’t know.

Maybe get a Wii and put TvC on that unused cab since that game is hitting the states… but I’m not too sure on how the sticks would work for a Wii. I know they have sticks on playasia for the Wii but I think they’re Jap/Korean only sticks. I wish I knew how to mod shit.

back to what you were saying, I can teach you some basic to advanced shit on there. Melvin, lol, actually is good on marvel… at least with Sent. I can’t do that un-fly sit consistently especially nowadays. Your best teacher would be Datrick, but that’s if he even touches that game anymore. Dat Spidey, Sent, Ken team was a nasty as team back in the day, lol. Till this day I still don’t know why I thought my Strider/Sent/doom team was able to stop a “higher Spidey”. That was before I stuck with Cable.

lol you just don’t understand how the Tekken franchise works, i forgive you :wgrin:

u can’t mash with Tekken and expect to win…not till after Tekken 3 at least lol

EDIT: was trying to quote devon, and failed. haha

Aww shit here we go!

“I’m very passionate about video games, the scene, and giving props when props are due, but don’t balme it on “the fan boy”. that one particular person recently has been winning the tourneys lately while you’ve never even placed in the top three. you can’t blame the fan boy for that either…”

Yeah I guess you’re right.

"last time I looked, I’ve played Tekken 1,2,3, Tag, and 4, but never competitively. I just so happen to had a girl at the time that only played tekken back in the day so… "

Oh man, just like everyone else on Earth! I’m talking about competitively. Didn’t think I’d have to state that since you’ve been at FFC since 2001.

"oh snaps! you played 5? fo’ realz on the realz?! that’s excellent. congratulations. :woot: "

See above.

“if you gotta ask who Cam is then kill yo’ self.”

There hasn’t been a Cam on the Tekken scene since I’ve been around. Is he rich? Does he have a TV show? Or do you just idolize him as well?

“I’m just wondering what the hell did $5 have to do with you loosing? Was it really bad habits or bad credit? I’m confused…”

Loosing? And the $5 has absolutely nothing to do with my losing. I just want a bigger pot.

"So you need more motivation? Someone to light the fire under your ass and make you perform better? Buy some red bull, I guess, or should I sit back in the cut and chant “come on, McValue meal!!!”

It’s not about motivation, fool. Besides shutting you spectators up and getting some free money, there is really nothing spectacular about winning a Tekken tournament at FFC. It’s just bad mental habits that I need to break. I lose to stuff because I play everyone like I play Reggie. Because that’s pretty much the only person I play against outside of tournament day. That’s why I don’t mind losing when I know damn well I shouldn’t be, because I have to stop playing everyone like everyone’s Reggie.

“Regardless of what you thought about me that’s not my intent. If I came off as disrespectful speaking about a game that you have never seen me play then sir, I apologize. If I “should’nt” voice an opinion on entry fee’s then, hey, I apologize for that too. I have no problem with that, but don’t ever again confuse my comments as being fanboy-ish. I should definitely get you a podium and a megaphone for this one. That’s the kind of quote that plays with the American anthem. So deep and meaningful.

Ultimately, I’m just talking because it’s the internet. I do still feel that the people playing these games are the ones that have say so in price, though.

I think it would actually make more since that the people who actually WIN should make the decision along with the people hosting the tourney. I already know some people would prefer it to be lower to $5. If you want a pot that badly then do a money match instead of trying make people pay more.

Also, blaming the fact that you play Reggie a lot as an excuse to why you lose… that’s like Justin Wong saying he plays Daigo too much and that’s why his boxer and Rufus could’nt stop Daigo’s Ryu. It does not take a rocket scientist to know that if you play someone better than you long enough, you’ll eventually become better. All that practice should be keeping you somewhere in the top 3. My two friends have both placed seconded and they dont play against Reggie as nearly as much as you have. I think all of that extensive experience has worked against you. Instead of trying to figure out Reg’ he actually figured you out. shrugs shoulders

All in all, I’m done talking to you about shit that really aint that important, but you seem to get off from this type of thing.

Instead, I’ll give you an offer: if you win this tourney in Tekken, I’ll give you a free shirt. you have my word.
If you don’t win the tourney, I only ask that you stop bullshitting me, and more importantly, stop bullshitting yourself. No excuses.

But wouldn’t that make your opinion even more void…? :wtf:

The only thing that you’re doing still is cheerleading. A good ol’ hype man.

Actually, yeah, you’re right, though. This is dumb. To think this started because I stated that you shouldn’t have a say-so in a game you don’t compete in. Curse my soul!

PS When I win one, I’d be glad to flatly refuse your shirt. The highest honor, right? Oh man, a cash pot and one of your shirts. Definitely an offer I can’t refuse. lol You call me a bullshitter.

okay now i see where cory’s coming from with all this forum argument…i’ll just put my two cents in real quick.

@Shatta: well one thing that i can say about the match ups between ray and i is this…total mindfuck. no homo. lol

the stuff that we’re looking for, when we’re pretty much beating each other up, isn’t really the same stuff that others are even aware of. for instance, i know better than to abuse certain attacks against him, because he can punish off of low parries, he can crush highs and lows(stupid tekken 5 CRUSH system), and he can punish whiffed attacks very well. our matches are really intense, and to be completely honest, he can easily win one of our omaha tekken tourneys just as much as i could.

the only issue? well he lost to Vince. a well deserved win on Vince’s behalf, which is something ray understands, i’m sure. that loss is on him, and it’s up to Ray to learn from those mistakes, which is something a lot of our omaha tekken players lack lol.

my big issue with everything going on right now, is that i’ve come across a lot of people that think they know how to play, but have no idea how to low parry and break grabs haha. the only reason why we’re so vocal in this thread, is to try and explain some shit, which is a lot harder than it sounds. i’d give shout outs to the people that are making a decent effort in actually learning the game mechanics, as opposed to learning juggles, but that might piss some people off lol

with that said, everybody better step their game up reall soon. i heard the KC crew might come down for the next tourney. i might not win this one haha

Reggie: The amount of times you write ‘haha’ into your forum posts makes me think you are either diabolical or crazy. Which is it?

that’s what’s up.

Is Chachi (I think that’s his screen name) comin’?

Have’nt spoke to the KC’ers in a while.

i don’t think that i met chachi when i was down in wichita, but he might if he’s rollin with any of the KC ppl. the only guys i know from there are Axiom theFounder and Mr Imprimis

now that i think about it, i haven’t even checked the KC thread to see who’s actually planning to show up lol. i’ll do that in a few.

and yes, i’m aware of the constant hahaha’s that i post, and i was thinking the other day…i would be REALLY crazy if i actually laughed like that, after each sentence hahaha

Problem is I watched a tournament a while back (Tekken 5) where a player (Sam) played with Eddie Gordo, Sam had never played any version of Tekken, he won the tournament by mashing buttons, and the whole time he’s playing. He kept saying, he has no idea what move he’s doing, he’s just pressing buttons.

If it’s a bunch of people that don’t know what they’re doing, of course that’s what you’d see.

You should try that in one of the FFC tournaments.

Lmao

@ Reggie,

Anyway, yeah, shatter, check your PMs.

my money’s a little tight right now, so i can’t tell you exactly when i’m gonna get one of those shirts, but i WILL get one for sure lol. probably before Extravaganza 14 in April. i’m really liking that organic one
