Well, Reggie won. This guy named Vincent got second. lol I’m not sure who got third.
I thought someone was gonna put up the results, actually.

these last two Tekken tourney’s my homboy’s have been getting second lately but I could’ve sworn that Darnell got atleast third, but I get that Philip dood is the other main guy to beat since he’s gotten 3rd twice.
Reggie is getting lucky and he knows it. [/sarcasm]
I’m really impressed with ALL Julia players in this last tourney.
but people need to switch it up more and not depend on that one juggle combo that even a non-Tekken player(me) can see comining from a mile away(luigi jr.).
Brad’s Bob is sick and aggressive but if you’re aiming to be in that top 3, Bob is a excellent choice, but you can’t be a one/few trick pony.
Players like Reggie, Darnell, Vincent, and Philip are not going to fall for that too much/ too often. Other players will fall victim to that and it was proven a lot sunday.
damn what happend to that dude who was smoking everyone who didnt play zangief? i figured he could make it to top 3
who’d he play?
if it’s Branden you’re talking about, i believe he used viper the whole time.
bob is amazing. i need to start playing him more…ggs to everyone i played at the Tekken tourney. so i think we all need a night to where we all can hop on this Tekken 6 business, gotta get everybody on a high level somehow lol
Yeah dude. Everything that you think I shouldn’t be getting beat up by(but get beat up by anyway) I want you to abuse against me. I’m winning the next one. lol
I heard about Swiss Beats being purty good with Viper… but it’s Viper.
I mean, I wanted to main Viper before SF4 came out but nah. People in Japan kept complaining about how powerful she was then Capcom nerfed her.
lol o branden
it was fun to play him, and see how viper can actually be played. Dude needs to stick around though lol cuz i wanna figure out how to fight that bitch
nice to see a good viper in person, i kinda scrubbed out a win on him just by boxer being boxer but i couldn’t hang with his shotos
If you’re talking about that cannon roll into that low kick, yeah that was an obvious set up. I think I tried to limit that on one per person per set to see if they’d fall for it… and more often than not they did.
Now if you’re talking about my d+1 punch set ups, you’re absolutely right on that… it’s a bad habit i formed playing pit bulls… just begging to get to low parried. I’m trying to get out of that habit but at the tourney it was working more often than not so I stuck with it.
Bob is my favorite, he’s definately top tier… he’s just very hard for me to set up launches since his df+2 is only launch on CH and his uf+3 and WR 2,1 are too slow and punishable. Don’t worry, I’ll mix it up more at the next tourney…
you improved A LOT compared to Nov’s tourney.
whatever you were doing I say continue but like I also suggested, switch it up.
lastly, make sure you have a back up character to keep you tactics fresh.
Reggie has like 5 mains. You should at least have 3-5 for a game like Tekken.
@ Reggie, is Steve banned in 6?
Why in God’s name would Steve be banned in 6? lol
In regards to what you said, having multiple mains isn’t nearly as important as knowing what other characters are capable of. You can use one character and be a monster so long as you know what you’re up against/what your own character can do.
Though I do agree that it’s kind of a waste to have one main for Tekken considering the variety available.
I wanna use Steve.
I would have played Bob at November’s tourney had it not been on 360, but I figured since I had to use the default sticks I’d be better with a simple character like Paul.
I actually have 2 other mains, King and Paul. I just didn’t use them for this tournament because I wanted to rep Bob. Now that I think about it I wish I’d have gone King against that other King player, would have been an interesting match
I’m learning Dragonov too and I may make him a main but I still have a lot to learn with him. I was inspired watching Aris play him at Nationals…
Thanks for the props and feedback. I’ll train harder and do better next tournament. I’ll get you one of these tourneys Darnell! (you too Ray)
wasn’t he banned before?
I could’ve sworn he was banned in 4 because of that “Pit Fighter” board.
I was just assuming that since no one, not even Vincent, play as him anymore. I guess he’ll make a comeback in 2010. I really do miss all the other Tekken players because I saw more of a variety in players and characters back then. More Jack 6’s, more Bruce’s, more Yoshi’s, more Kuma’s, more Marduc’s, and especially Steve. He’s just so nasty.
Regarding the single main, lol, Tekken is not that type of game. Period.
What you mentioned applies to multiple, if not all, fighting games.
unless you’re Diago, yea, stick to who you’re good at.
other than that, that’s almost impossible in Tekken.
not an actual fact, but most players from Japan and Korea can stick to one main in Tekken. I have’nt seen, lately, a player main one character and beast with just that character… and this is not based on vs. scrubs this based on major, top tier players vs. other really good players.
Eh, maybe in 4, I guess. I came in at 5. He hasn’t been banned since 5, and he was God in 5.
I guess I don’t think what you’re saying about HAVING to have multiple mains is very…wise. It doesn’t make sense to me. It’s just not that kind of game? What’s your reasoning behind that? The better you are, the easier it is to win. Whether you play with one character or all of them.
I would think with the many different fighters available with the tons of moves they have, busting out something nobody has seen yet would be sort of easy. The variety that Tekken has is probably one of it’s strongest points.
But then again, what do I know? I’m an outsider peering in from outside a window, with a monocle, a ridiculous handlebar mustache and a cup of coffee.
Man It still feels good. But yeah Branden’s Viper was going buck, We gotta have a session b4 he leaves again. !!!CHAMP OUT!!!
you sound pretty Pringles to me…
I can say the same about myself but I’m going by how this game plays.
