why did you have to get yourself banned , bah
Mircosoft trying something new to get your money.
Hoping to make an upgrade to the Xbox One that much more tempting, Microsoft has unveiled a new promotion that offers Microsoft Store visitors a $100 credit in exchange for their PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360.
Before you rush out to hand over your gaming device, keep in mind that there are a few caveats to this deal. First, Microsoft isn’t accepting just any old Xbox 360. If you plan to trade yours in, it will have to be either an Xbox 360 Elite or the more recent Xbox 360 Slim. Owners of the original Xbox 360 model are out of luck, though the Microsoft Store will accept any variation of PlayStation 3.
Additionally, the fine print attached to this promotion notes that you don’t necessarily need to use this $100 store credit toward an Xbox One, but that if you aren’t trading in your old console towards Microsoft’s newest gaming device you may not receive the full $100. “To receive maximum trade in value, you must purchase an Xbox One at the same time,” reads a notice on the Microsoft Store website. “Any appraised value will be determined at trade in and provided as store credit, subject to Microsoft’s discretion and approval.”
The final caveat is that this deal is only available in select Microsoft Store locations. To see if your local store is participating, visit the Microsoft Store site, then click the “Your Store” link at the top of the page. If available, you should see the $100 credit advertised front and center.
next thing you know they are gonna start handing out bjs to buy it

First system update coming next week. Then another on March 4th right before Titanfall.
On February 11, the first update will be delivered to customers who sign into their Xbox One. It features many new improvements – including lots of behind-the-scenes updates for developers building apps and games for Xbox One, several new features we believe Xbox fans will love, stability and product updates to improve the customer experience, and continuous improvements to the quality of Kinect voice so commands become more fluid and responsive over time. While we won’t be going into all of the details of the product updates today, we will be sharing more information soon.
Some of the features you can expect to see on February 11 include:
The ability to see and manage your storage space. With this update, you will find it easy to find how much space your content takes up and better manage your content. You can also control your install lineup and more easily manage your download queue. We’ve separated My Games and My Apps into separate lists, so you can easily create separate queues for both. Now you can pick the order in which you want your content to load and we’ve added a boot progress indicator so you can better track updates while they load.
The battery power indicator is back! You can see it right on the home screen, so you can easily track how much battery life is left on your controller.

And, you will be able to use your USB keyboard with your Xbox One.
These are just a few of the many updates we will be shipping on February 11. We’ll share more details on these and other upcoming features in the coming weeks. We have several surprises in store that we think you’ll love.
March 4 system updates – countdown to “Titanfall”
On March 4, in advance of what is expected to be the biggest game launch of the year, we will be delivering another system update to prepare your Xbox One for “Titanfall.” This update will contain many new features and improvements, most significantly to our party and multiplayer systems.
Now we just need native DLNA, Twitch broadcasting and external storage support.
Also - “including lots of behind-the-scenes updates for developers building apps and games for Xbox One” - I’m assuming that means the 8% GPU reserve given to devs along with Direct X 11.2.

so how do people in this thread feel about another development team taking over KI?
The real question is, who cares about KI?

oh… well…
i got it from this: http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2014/feb/06/microsoft-will-be-announcing-new-development-partner-killer-instinct-comments-franchise-future/
Speaking with Polygon, a spokesperson for Microsoft had the following to say:
We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Double Helix and wish them success in their next endeavor.
We want all of our loyal fans to know that the Killer Instinct team at Microsoft is not changing and that the franchise will remain with Microsoft Studios.
We remain dedicated to delivering a great experience and plan to announce our new development partner soon. We’re excited about the future of this popular franchise.
what i gather from that is that the pm team within microsoft is staying the same, but the developers themselves are changing.
If the Core KI people are apart of the new team than there’s nothing to worry about
Sure, but no rush, one of the next 7 or 8 iterations of Xrd will probably end up multiplatform anyways.

I think KI being manned by new devs is exciting. There’s the possibility of a better team coming into place that will make the game better at a faster rate.
The most important aspect is that the people responsible for the vision of the game are still on board.
The people that will be playing it at Evo 2014, for starters.
Swear this is just skullgirls all over again

This game will probably justify Kinect gaming going forward, so it has to be good. Otherwise…

Even if it’s good, I suspect we’ll still just see be the same kinda games as we did with Kinect 1, albeit more accurate & less laggy. It’s been several years & there haven’t been many non-dance/fitness-related titles that make meaningful and effective use of the peripheral. The guarantee that every household with an XB1 also has a Kinect 2 should incentive devs to innovate with it, but the current outlook (Sports 2, Zumba, Just Dance, Kinect Fitness) isn’t too promising.

I really wish the Xbone controller was compatible with the 360. It’s really quite a nice controller. … That’s my contribution.

Still have many years to go for these next gen systems. Anything can happen in that time. I wasn’t expecting a magically great use of the Kinect outside of the regular on their first year.
KI is fine. New devs will work with Microsoft to continue its success and it basically one of the most talked about next gen game until Titanfall hits. If KI gets a good showing at Evo (with Xbox/Microsoft being the main console there) that should be the stepping stone to keeping the game relevant for a long time. I’m sure a lot of people who own the game aren’t even really FGC people, and hopefully after Evo more of the FGC will jump on board. Best case scenario is the game brings a considerable amount of new people that weren’t in the FGC before.
