I just want people to stop trying to have an escape goat for buying a system they favor. I really dont believe people are buying X1’s cause of K.I or ps4s for Killzone. Those games may have a really small reason but arent the reason you decided to invest in a game console. They arent system sellers.
It came at the start of the economy going under. That played a huge factor in how people thought about using their money. But even then, people bought it. Whereas with the X1, people are begging for a Kinect-less version that costs $100 less. There just seems to be a lot more people complaining about the system because of an extra accessory they don’t deem necessary.
Because you’re in the Xbox thread talking about what games people should or should not be buying the console for, as if to suggest you know every person’s individual tastes. What else would your goal be other than to incite arguments and suggest that Sony’s console has games worth paying $400 for in comparison?
None of the launch games on either platform are “system sellers,” so what’s your point exactly? Are you also in the Sony thread making the same remarks? If not, then that just proves my point about you trying to incite arguments.
I went out and bought my first PS3 because of Dark Resurrection & the promise of exclusive T6 within a few years’ time. Joke was on me with that last bit .
So while I wouldn’t recommend to your average joe that they buy a console for just one game, I can see where those that do are coming from.
Well what the hell else would you buy a new console for, all it takes is one game to get you in the door, then you’re probably gonna sample some of the other shit on the menu just to try things out. Why buy a new system at all if there is not a single game you are interested in?
Killer Instinct did it for me, it’s fun, I suck at it, and it’s still fun lol
Titanfall, as weary as I am of FPS games, is made by the OG Infinity Ward guys, and I still respect COD4:Modern Warfare as one of the funnest games of all time. The 12 player limit on Titanfall had me worried for a moment, but if it can approach the fun factor of COD4, I’m down for that.
Ninja Gaiden 4 hinted at, purchase justified lol
Anyways…
Games…[details=Spoiler]
Battlefield 4-Is fun when it works, if not doing much new. 64 player count makes it a completely different experience than the 360/PS3 versions, way more intense and less wandering around before you get back into action. Healthy spread of gametypes, if you’re getting into it now most of the major glitches have been fixed for MP but it’s still a bit buggy. Only do it for MP, the campaign is awful.
Ryse-It’s glossy. Sort of a Assassin’s Creed/Batman Arkham style combat system done in straightforward action game structure, but pretty dull and repetitive. Having a hard time staying interested, mediocre action game if you need that fix. Destined to be a common free with gold title.
Halo Spartan Assault…should have been a free game for X1 adopters, don’t buy into the Twin-Stick shooter description, it’s pretty much Halo’s gameplay done from a top down perspective. Would have been fine if you were playing though Halo length levels on co-op, but it’s fairly timid on the action, most of the stages take 5 minutes or less to complete, and you have to annoyingly manage your ammo instead of just picking your favorite weapon and going Smash TV against hordes of enemies. My friends try using the “it was a mobile game originally” defense, but that doesn’t stop it from generally sucking.
Need For Speed Rivals-Falls into the “nearly identical, but not as good category”. If you played Criterion’s Hot Pursuit Reboot, it’s pretty much the same, but the developers just seem more bored doing it. High end exotic car lineup, doesn’t make the mistake the Most Wanted reboot made by not letting you play as the cops and online police chases are mildly fun, but gets old fast.
Killer Instinct-Love it, pad play was horrible but finally finished my pad hack up with no more ongoing issues and learning it again on stick.
Killer Instinct Classic-Like having it, but a missed opportunity cuz it’s completely barren of features. DH talking about adding online, they should, but make it available as a separate Live Arcade title to people who didn’t get Ultra Edition of KI.
Dead Rising 3-Haven’t played a lot personally, but a solid choice in general for the GTA/Zombie crazed gamers. If it had an FPS mode where you played a soldier, probably be the best selling game of all time, but the structure seems pretty much like DR1/2, just with wider open environment. Just haven’t gotten around to it honestly[/details]
If this discussion was going on in the ps4 thread and someone said they bought a ps4 for killzone Id be going ham in that thread as well. This isnt about consoles/fanboys. If it is then who’s the fanboy cause im not. I have all systems except the X1 and wii u this new gen.
So why are you in this thread if you dont have an X1 & not planning to get one. Going ham on people buying something that they want. You’re one stupid fucktard.
