Why are amplify and dead silence so good in this game? Tried out the combo in FFA the other day, it’s stupid good.
Any of you guys see IW’s little post on their future patch ideas? Basic summary is that they want to nerf snipers some more (slower ADS, reduction in focus benefit for them) and are contemplating adding a playlist called Heavy Duty where everyone has more health. Sounds great, then I realize my favorite weapon, the CBJ, would probably take an obscene amt of time to kill. Can’t link the post since I’m on my phone, but it’s on mp1st.com
ok, i held off of forming my opinion on this game for a while. but after learning all the maps, and seeing how people actually play after learning the maps, and after getting a decent grasp of the perks and weapons, i do not like ghosts. (i play TDM exclusively and i have like 3 days played. 1.81KDwith an average of 18 kills per game)
rather than complain, heres how i think they could improve ghots
-maps need to be cropped down. too many maps where you can spend upwards of a full minute of searching for combat without enemy contact. a lot of the maps have large empty non combat areas where gunfights dont happen (the ice lake and fishing village or whatever in whiteout, the castle and crash site in stonehaven). maybe they work different in other game modes, but perhaps crop them depending on mode the way BF does
-amplify doesnt cost enough points at 2, for how strong a perk it is. its far stronger than deadeye for example, and deadeye is 5 points. given how loud footsteps are without amplify, i think they should increase the cost to 4 points
-IEDs need more of a draw back. longer delay between beeps and explosion. or less range. claymores are one direction. you can duck bettys. c-4 traps need line of sight etc. other explosives in past CODs have always had solid ways to defeat them outside of perks
-sniping feels good, but it might be too strong. quickdraw works on snipers. stalker works on snipers. i have an easier time sniping here than in Blops2, and i know the devs intended for it to be weaker than in previous versions. make those perks not work on long range scopes
-most of the guns do too much damage. lots of 2 and 3 shot kills for weapons with high fire rates at moderately long ranges. time to kill seems a lot shorter than any other COD. they need to rework the range drop offs. the smgs feel fine, but the marksman rifles, ARs, and LMGs could stand a nerf in some way to make the TTK longer
-off the grid is completely off the grid. even if you stand in the same spot all match. i think this is a giant step back from Blops2 where you showed your position if you stood still, and you could run MMS and see campers thru walls from the start of the match. no need to get 14 kills or whatever for an oracle. bring back the camper detection for off the grid
-knife. shits got inv frames like ive never seen before. maybe because it ties to the new animation and youre actually dead once it triggers? maybe decrease the range for the animation to trigger
-spawns. the game spawns you relative to enemy line of sight rather than proximity. it needs to account for both factors.
Why would you pay +$50 for a game if you only play one mode?
Hey man, that shit is addicting, I keep trying new builds and new strategies and stuff, it has all of the complicated things that I wish zombies had.
I actually don’t play it as much as it seems, I just leave my PS3 running most of the time.
The hardest part about that mode is finding a lobby not full of idiots or low levels who fail challenges and waste resources. I always end up carrying whatever lobby i’m in regardless, but man is that shit annoying.
“Challenge: Use only melee before the drill finishes”
BANG BANG BANG
“Failed”
4 out of 5 games.
For some reason I am now suddenly amazing with the FP6, out of no where. I mean I was never terrible with it, but I was never above average, like with the other shotties. It’s actually starting to feel better to me than the MTS, which I spent the time to gold.
Maybe it’s just the C4 helping out, because that shit has been doing wonders for me.
Only thing I disagree with is forcing people to be mobile to use stealth perks. That is what I hated in BO2. They allowed quickscoping to work but make me move just because I like to camp? Fuck that nonsense! I admit i don’t like QSing but if that’s what you like to do fine by me. Just don’t force me or others play a specific way. Off the grid is fine as is.
only mode i like for COD. COD doesnt work well IMO when you mix in objectives. the game favors reflex and first shot accuracy over tactics. same reason i would never play TDM in BF, a game that favors tactics over reflex and accuracy. it’s not what the game is best at
QSing is stupid. i didnt say anything about bringing that back. also, my reason for disliking camping is maybe because of my game mode preference. i see no reason to sit still in TDM as the objective is to find the enemy before they find you and get to 75 first. but if there is an objective, then that is fine
camping is too strong in this game with all the camper tools they give you being much stronger than the things they give you to find campers. camper friendly maps, amplify, complete off the grid, ieds, recon, motion sensor, needing multiple sat coms for a uav swipe, louder footsteps in general. all versus oracle being a 14 kill streak with 10 or so seconds between intervals. there isnt enough balance between camper and the person actively searching for contact. currently you are actually punished for moving
currently the inverse of what you didnt like in Blops2 is in effect. people who would normally want to move are forced to camp or use more stealthy loadouts as an attempt to not lose to campers. makes for a lot of full time out games on the larger maps.
i dunno, maybe make the oracle swipe faster or last longer. or make the night owl highlight enemy positions.
stealth perks are ok. just the combo of what you can do with the perks+maps+equipment makes it too good in ghosts
i recently started running some troll camper classes where i just hide in the bushes with all stealth perks. jump out and stab people who run by. maybe snipe people if they stand still
it was funny up until i realized my KD was going up
Except in BO2 engineer and emp nades made it way too easy to shut down simple camping tactics. Not that i had trouble mind you i just had to outsmart my targets.
A rusher doesn’t need to run perks either. Really what you need either eay is knowledge on maps, where your team members are going vs the enemy and your guns capabilities.
Meh, I prefer reflex really. using fast hands to a pistol isn’t really helping anyone in the long run of transitioning. so with all due respect, fuck yout recommendation of taking quickdraw off.
Taking off stalker also doesn’t really make sense to me. because qs and stalker don’t mix. in terms of results, that becomes hard scoping which is grounds for you to get shot up.
also what’s this invincibility on the knifing about? any combat knife kill I perform leaves me like a sitting duck so much so that I HAVE to tac knife.
I’m going to nitpick and say there’s no such thing as hardscoping…that’s actually sniping…what the rifle was intended for. To see down the scope and pick off targets at range with one shot (Ideally) at the cost of tunnel vision and getting flanked.
Gotta love it when people say “Camping is too strong” yet they forgot about how silly it was in MW2. I will agree that most players are too concerned with getting a good k/d than winning. So in turn that leads to them camping
