So when I finally budget to get a fightstick (almost there), I’m planning on using custom stick art for it. Here is a WIP for Yun that I based the design off the SSF4 Chun-Li TE S and using d3v’s BlazBlue Stick Template, edited to my liking.

This is my first time attempting something like this

Comments/Criticism please!

Finished my template for my HORI SCV stick planning to get clear buttons with pink bubble top

anyone modify the art on their hitbox yet? is there a template? or way to do it? please let me know

Anyone have a full printable version of this design? I found here in a thread from years ago, and the rapidshare link to it was gone.

EDIT: To be more specific, I’m looking for the Madcatz TE Fightstick version.

The styling and lighting of the text looks really really nice. Are you getting clear buttons so you can see the letters behind them?

Hey … hoping someone can help me out. Just got a Hori SCV and would like to change the artwork. I have and idea in mind …Salem Bradley/Pride from Full Metal Alchemist but no skill or expertise … any advice as to how I go about it would be appreciated

I recently started making stick art and, at the very least, can send you in the right direction.

  1. Download the 30 day free trial of Adobe Photoshop
  2. I decided to use Art’s Hobbies to print my stick art. Here’s the site, as well as information on the photoshop template you should be using:
    tek-innovations.com/arthobbies/index.cfm?loc=about&sub=art
  3. Even though it was my first time ever using Photoshop I was able to create this in around an hour, which included finding the artwork. I know it’s not great, but it can give you an idea of what you can accomplish with next to no experience in a small amount of time.

Edit: Original credit should be given to boffenjl for creating the image of Guts

Instead of the trial you can get Photoshop CS2 for free legally.

Or you can use Paint.net (free and I think open source) and install the PSD plugin so it can read Photoshop files.

Which one do you guys like more:

@Evolution169 - If you’re planning on going with a clears (or at least on the thumb button), then the second is obviously the one to use…

If I may offer a little constructive criticism, add a little life to that background, even if it’s something abstract with complimentary colors to Peacock and your button colors.

So as not to double post, I just wanted to add that I got my Mad Catz SCV Art and plexi from Art Hong:

Once again, I am a satisfied customer!

I ended up going with the second one. I stuck with that background because I wanted to controller be subtle and classy(as classy as a video game controller with a cartoon character on it can be I guess lol). I figure I’m not feeling it, it should be easy to change later on at least.

Appreciate your input !

Working on my first stick art, any thoughts? I know there’s no bleed and things are a little wonky, but I made the template from scans (any tips?) and it still needs a lot of work. I just wanted to at least sketch out what I was thinking. Also I’ll be using a clear dustwasher and either clear or blue translucent buttons.

Well, my first thought was the background being one color makes it harder to make out the image, as it kinda gets lost in the blue. And on top of that, the image is a bit too blurry for my taste.

I’m bored so I just whipped this up in a few minutes to see what it would look like with some white in the background and the image sharpened.

PurpleChoop’s request completed…

Riding dat overused BG hehehe…

@Evolution169 - Hmm… No, I think with the white background it’s a little too strong with that subject… Perhaps a lighter shade of blue than what @Sal_The_Tiller had? And unless you want to avoid adding it, the P4A logo in the lower righthand area that currently has the white space?

I’m trying to make a set of buttons, and I intend on inserting the cutouts underneath the buttons. Does anyone have the actual size of the inserted part underneath the buttons so I can properly size these? here’s a screenshot for further understanding:

Are you planning on using Seimitsus? I just got my art work from Tek Innovations with buttons cut for them. I can measure one of them after dinner.

EDIT: 22mm is the diameter of the inner cut on the 30mm button holes. To have a little bleed area, I recommend you go at least 24mm on your button art.

Yes! Seimitsus.
