well im making my girlfriend a stick and she asked if it can be a pink power ranger theme i was wondering if any one can make me a template with these two images if possible thank
@acronym- yes you would get a full size plexi as far as installation just remove the old art place art on to top of control panel pace plexi on top and screw panel back on . of course your going to have to remove the buttons and the ball on top of the stick first
it’s very hard to make plexi for the SE. i’ve only heard that someone in europe was making them but haven’t much about it. most people just use lami label since it’ll fit to form since it’s just laminated paper.
well, the ibuki logo needs to be cleaned up for one, if you don’t use 6 buttons remove the last two buttons so that you don’t cut off ibuki’s face. and i kinda don’t like the blue jizz flying at ibuki, that’s all from me…tee hee
I’m trying out some new ideas for the art on my custom PDP fightstick panel. Originally it just started with me trying to add a bit more color variation to the Scorpion image, since the all red and black look was kind of monotonous. After I put some orange into the background, I decided to go about trying to add some of the nice gold accents from the official sticks back in, so I made a shuriken design in Illustrator to serve as the joystick directions and made little “bezels” for the buttons. That also got me thinking about more artwork possibilities.
I think I’m leaning a bit towards the purple one (it reminds me of the Mortal Kombat 3 machine), although I like the red one too. I don’t really care for the blue one that much. Any opinions / suggestions?
Decided to update my original art… I was going for simplicity but decided to revive those old photoshop skills and add a little more spice… (still nothing too amazing) - added some finer details and Ubuntu coloration. Any thoughts?
@timstuff
Out of the three i really like the first one the best and imo i think it’ll look better with the dragon emblem in the bg like the other two. i’ve been wondering what up with the button scheme u have? l
I’ll give it a try. And to answer your question, the button layout is an unholy marriage between the Vewlix 6 button layout and the Madcatz Combat Panel layout that I have had in development for a while. It was originally only going to be 8 buttons (I had no “run” button originally), but I discovered that the smaller profile of the Sanwa JLF would leave me with enough room for a run button, so I decided to twin the X/A button. If I want the panel to have less buttons, I’ll have a few Yenox button hole plugs on standby, and the flip top on the PDP will make swapping fast.
Oh cool looking at the image now makes sense. Have u tested it to see if its comftarble? It looks like a good way to have a compatible scheme for both mk and sf. At first glance i tought u had it oddly shaped on purpose. It’s intriguing so ill be on the look out for the final product
And to answer your other question, yes, I have tested this format quite a bit. I actually built a test unit out of a cardboard box and it worked out quite splendidly for both MK and Street Fighter.
Here’s a hi-res copy of the “Street Combat” layout template, if you want to have a closer look:
