The NEW Official Arcade Stick Art Thread NO IMAGE QUOTING!

Yeah I was having the same feeling on the colors. Thanks for the input ^^

Unless I’m way off, might want to double check that.

Looks good. Like Drop One said, I do agree that the images are too different and just has soo much going on. You could also improve the quality of the borders too.

it looks like he did the borders around the existing art which defeats the purpose of having comic style boarders in the first place. it needs work.

Keep it away from Pruppets and dont take it on a brote, this template is not for those dingus hunks.

The gray line in the center seems a bit pixelated and as Drop One said they aren’t seperated well enough, also you should select a main and an alt colour and stick to these.Of course a lot of colours can be used too (rainbow stick -) if they fit to each other good.I suggest you to select a simple background color, place your characters on it (without their background) and use some brushes, lines and texts to make it fancier …

Actually no, I made the borders first, then placed the pictures.

then those are extremely random shapes you used. you didnt have the images you planned to use in mind when you made the border?

I had a rough idea of what I wanted to use. I’m new to this sort of thing :v

well i dont have many comic style templates but generally when i do them i try to make them in a way that fits with the design of the stick. and i theme the images around that concept. im not trying to get on you or anything, im just trying to offer advice and letting you know what i think should be looked at and worked on. try not to make them too complicated, and try to stick to characters who have similar art styles and resolutions.

I was not trying to pull off a comic style, I was just wanting to have all my main characters on my stick. And I appreciate the advice and input ^^

oh, thats what i thought it looked like, my bad. well, i would still say the same advice applies… from a graphic design standpoint, i would shy away from putting too many things on a stick. this is one i did with 4 and i still feel like it was too much:
(and now my fool of a friend wants me to re-do it with pandora versions of all the characters… pfff)

Made it less of an color explosion and made the gaps better.

Here’s a first of a UMvC3 “Team” stick style that I’m going to continue to tweak:

The weird OCD part of me even made sure they were in the correct outfits that I play them.

printed out a new design for myself, but since my plexi is busted theres no point in actually installing it… woe is me.

Thats really hot, I might do the same for my team of Skrull, Firebrand and Doom. Good stuff bro.

You just need to resize the pictures to balance out each other’s proportion and move chris to the right. IF POSSIBLE, you could search for pictures that better matches each other. Other than that, very nice work. My UMvC3 team has Chun-li and Morrigan but I use Iron Fist

Heh, believe me, I looked. I ended up settling for the “best” pictures. The problem being is it’s VERY hard to find like-pictures of those three in their alternate outfits. I didn’t want Chris to get cut off by the buttons so I kept his torso between the stick and the buttons, same with why Morrigan is so far to the right. Thanks for the kind words!

I’m going to guess you are not using clear buttons?
