The NEW Official Arcade Stick Art Thread NO IMAGE QUOTING!

Last one for the day.

how do you do that SE mock up stick using your art?

For mine?

i think he’s asking wanzerpilot09

You make the SE mockup by using a photoshop file that applies an action (atn) file which transforms your image to the appropriate proportions. I found the file(s) on another thread from this site, but here is the link: http://www.mediafire.com/?mth12l0wed4

Ok, my turn I guess. I want to get some translucent yellow buttons to go with these but the yellow buttons aren’t so yellow. Also not sure about the outlines on the punch and kick icons on the buttons.

Thinking of something like this:

I’m seeing some nice art as always. and now I’m inspired to do another one but I have a question. I wanna make a vewlix template but i wanna change the color of the button scheme and the background but I don’t know how…any help?

Deadman Wonderland Arthobbies Full Template. Might actually decide to get this one done for real. Lubz me some Shiro.

Made some changes:

I don’t mean to impose anything, but I made a post on this page requesting feedback on my stick art. I know I’m not the only one and that’s understandable, but I feel mine was overlooked with the other stick art posts after mine… :frowning:

Honestly I think it got overlooked because it’s damn near perfect. The layout, colours, textures, etc. are all well executed. The only thing I would fix is that the edges of Dudley are not perfectly cut out – I see some white pixels, particularly in the area with the green background.

But other than that, I like it!

Thanks for the quick reply!

That’s the first thing I’ll be doing when I get back to work on it. I thought I had all the edges cleaned up, but now I see the area you’re talking about.

Maybe think of moving the main Dudley up a tiny bit? His chin gets cut off in the buttons. And maybe work on the text underneath the turbo panel area? A stroke blending option in PS would look great on it, and try centering it? What I do, when the text isn’t the same size, is separate the text lines into different layers and then stretch the shorter of the two so that it is the same length as the longer one. I find this helps it be a tad bit more balanced. Other than that, its wonderful artwork.

I would avoid giving the text a stroke effect maybe just add a shadow to bring out more and center it as joe is suggesting.

Rather than stretching the actual text which skews the proportions of the letters, I suggest making a text box (click and drag with the type tool rather than just click) and open the character and paragraph palette and changing the alignment to Justify All. This will stretch one word across the text box you make, and if there are multiple words it will space the words evenly. If you want some more space between the letters, adjust the tracking to be higher (in the same palette).

Yeah honestly Wanzer that dudley looks really nice as is. Just the few white pixels people mentioned. Easy way to get rid of those after cutting out an image like that (in photoshop) is if it’s on a separate layer, just control+click the layer in the layers menu to select the border of it easily. Then go up to the Select menu, Modify > Contract and choose like 1-2 pixels. Then back in the select menu choose Inverse and then delete.

Hey guys, thanks for all of your input. Luckily I had some time today and I tried out your suggestions. The only other difference is that I finally was able to get the SSF4 font for Dudley’s name. Other then that, I’m a little unsure whether it looks better with the main Dudley moved up, but I thought it wouldn’t hurt to try it. If it looked better in the default position I had, please let me know. Thanks again everyone!

Looks much better now hes not as covered as he was. The text under the turbo/guide box is the only thing imo that still needs a lil work. Mayb adjust the arcade fightstick to run down across like in the original te…

By across, you mean having the text go the whole width of the turbo area (with the home button and such) above?
