I wish I could drive out to Illuminaudi and hang, but I’ve got martial arts classes. Hopefully I’ll see you all some upcoming weekend at Illuminaudi or another place.
Anyway, time for a shameless plug! I’ve got a new website, PowerUp, and I’m still looking for interviewees. I’m sure there are some of you who would love to get your voice out there, so let me know.
lol @ 35% out of 100. I feel you there Delpheus, damn my asian mathematical brain :<
Adam: City of Heroes has no end-game at all, it’s pretty much leveling to 50 but honestly it’s the most fun I’ve ever had on an MMO. You make so many characters just for the flavor and fun of making them, but if you’re looking for a competitive/serious MMO, don’t bother xD
Yeah I know it’s for alt-aholics, but seeing as I work and play mostly fighting games, I figure something like this would be fun and occupy my time when I’m not.
Josh, I still don’t get why Illuminaudi guy is a crook. I mean he has a wife and kid, and if that store is his only means of income, then it doesn’t really look like he’s doing too well in the first place. If he has to pay people to stay after to watch us, well, I don’t see why he would be obligated to do that, especially since we’re not making him any money. I mean I hate it when we have to pack up and leave early too, especially after some people just made the drive down from Dayton, but if his wife wants him home or whatever, I can’t really blame him. I guess he’s got an hour drive home or so. Yesterday, he had his kid with him just so he could stay open for us, so I thought that was really cool of him. I get that he’s kind of gouging for pop, but I’ve brought in my own drinks several times and not been called on it, and it’s not like people buy enough of that stuff to make him any significant money off of it. I thought game junkie was doing alright, but they had to fold up, and they made us buy something every time we came in there, or charged like 10 bucks to get in on Friday nights (and they packed it in somehow,) so I know Illuminaudi isn’t doing that well. If they stay open late enough, I really wouldn’t mind paying them 5$ every other week just to help them out, especially since they let me use their space for free on every other day.
Anyway, you’ve known him longer than I have, so I’m just asking what else he’s done in the past besides closing early and charging too much for stuff that you don’t even really have to buy. And having yugioh tournaments during our tournaments.
I don’t really like how Game Junkie ran tournaments but it was nice to have a decent venue to do so in, even though I didn’t play any of the games (went to maybe two melee tournaments just to support the store and my friend who played) and i’m not really surprised that they went out of business. They couldn’t make any money selling games because they couldn’t compete with gamestop or any other brick and mortar store.
I wouldn’t mind paying like $10 a month for a pass to play there all the time or something. It’s not really fair to the dude that we can go there and play games and bring our own food/drinks. It’s not making him any money.
Addendum: Going to illuminaudi is better than going to some random guy’s house and possibly only having one TV, vs. having multiple ones.
Amanda, I’m calling you out. What is your problem with me and why do you feel the need to make it apparent to other people but not me personally? If you have an issue, please, discuss it openly; otherwise you just come off as conniving and rude for no clear reasons. So please, state your reasoning.
In the immortal words of Youngbloodz, “don’t start no shit, won’t be no shit”.
The illuminaudi guy struck me as really cool as well. He cant be beat in wcw/nwo revenge .
I dislike the distance more than anything…but its not so bad. When I was against paying, I was unaware that all the consoles and tvs were already there.
