Garou’s cool. I played some KOF98 slugfest (only 98 available on 2df) and it was kinda fun. I have trouble understanding the KOF system though, but it seems like it’s a get in- do your combo- get out game.

98 is fun as Hell. One of the best KOF’s in my and many others opinions. Also you are right in saying KOF is a rush down heavy game. There is ways to avoid stuff (rolls, dodges) but most of them get shut down by command throws which can’t be broken. With three characters per team, you are bound to have a command thrower in there somewhere. On top of that you also have the auto guard system (i.e Terry’s Rising Tackle automatic blocks certain attacks) so even if you are getting rushed down you can attack back instead of just turtling.
I can show you some tricks next time we hang out. I have been told I am pretty decent at the game.
