As much as i like Charlie, even I’m not gonna lie, he is only a few decent steps above the likes of someone like Dan. Totally low.
Charlie is most definitety near the middle tier IMO. Even Wong came out and said he’s probably one of the best low tiers around. He has some air mobility and he has options, which is more than I can say for a lot of the cast (especially on the capcom side).

hes probably top 20 in marvel unless i’m excluding some characters who are better. Besides, he has a ground overhead and when you combine that with tron, it gets nasty fast.
I randomly picked Charlie today and attempted to his his AAA for Anti-air purposes and it kiept missing my opponent COMPLETLEY. Am I doing something wrong here? Regular sommersault is great tho…
his assist is bodega but on point he has silly blockstun set-ups, good priority, mobility tricks, space control boshit,
with the right helper he also can do ghetto shit like
lockdown+assist->overhead> into lockdown
he gets to maintain pressure sometimes, takes practice but he’s pretty good.
I haven’t played as charlie yet (guile for me) but he can be effective in the right hands.
charlie isn’t any old weak low-tier character. he’s definately up there and can wreck some shit
Charlie’s AA Flash kick glitch. Certain characters when crouching, his AA will pass right through them even though its otherwise a perfect hit.
These chars include storm, mags, iron man, and jill, among others. Depending on distance it won’t hit certain short chars even when they are standing, like megaman, roll, serve bot, and maybe wolverine.
Charlie has his uses and is not garbage tier sure, but is still in a upper low-tier range. No way is he middle tier like the other member suggested.
In many ways he is like a slightly upgraded dan. A bit faster, and with moves that have a little more priority, projectile is no longer garbage but is not great by any stretch of the imagination either, supers are a little better, etc.
Like Dan, charlie is also one of those unfortunate SF chars that seemed to be tossed into the game with very little improvement to compete in this style of play.

dan is nearly unplayable, charlie is good if paired with the right assist, he has a semi infinite like guile, he got beasted though he was high in xvsf now hes just mid.

Even though his assists are almost useless, hes really great on point. Good air mobility with his flash kick that can xup and if it hits, it causes knockdown. Great supers. The sonic boom one is pratically safe. He can DHC out off sonic boom super creating safe dhc’s. His RH throw is unrollable\untechable? and that damn ground overhead is god like when combined with tron. Delayed ground chain with the overhead in there somewhere all behind tron is rediculous. There aren’t too many ground overheads in the game, actually thinking about it, charlie is the only one that comes to mind. He also has decent priority with good angles on his normals. He’s high mid tier easy and he’s not a beefed up version of dan. Theres no beefed up version of dan in this game what so ever. Dan just sucks.
You might as well give up; True Grave is just one of those people who feels like he’s somehow special for playing low tier, and he’s not going to admit that one of his characters is anything but low tier. You can tell that just from reading his posts.
Lately I’m only using: Charlie and War Machine, sometimes dan in there too depending on who i’m up against.

Damn near every character backed by a top assist like tron’s, can be decent/good. A good Dan player with a top assist like commando or tron can do ok, but that does not boost dan to middle-tier.
No really, at far as my opinion goes, i believe Charlie is low-tier. He is solid for a low-tier, but is simply just not that good, or else a lot more players would be picking him. When it comes down to a choice between Charlie or Guile, 80% of players out there will pick Guile without hesitation.
If the rest believe he is middle tier, i respect their beliefs on the subject. My opinions still stand.

You guys aren’t giving Roll enough credit. She’s decent if you back her up with good assists and abuse her jab, throw, and sweep.

The only time i said i refrained from using the best assist was with Commando. Which i only do that, so i will not be tempted to rely on him just for his AA assist. That is the mistake many make with capcom, using him solely for assist purposes.
If by chance their other two chars get taken out, they are left a sitting duck because they have no clue how to use commando on his own. Seen this happen way too many times.
So i’m not the only one who believes Charlie is low-tier. Then again many on that list look kinda off.
Jill low-tier? No way.
