It was one of those times where the gameplay does meet the story. You never felt vulnerable as Sora in KH2 because no one actually could touch him. The only ones that could had to use loopholes and trickery or caught him while he was still recovering from the whole “Being asleep for a year”.
Really the only reason suspense exists now was because the Mark of Mastery set him back to zero and he had to work his way back up and he still arguably isn’t as strong as he was in KH2.
Reflega magic is OP and eases the data battles by a lot. Even without it there’s the Fenrir technique that makes half of them and Lingering Will free.
The most difficult nobody encounter is at the end of Cavern of Remembrance. Average player will take maybe 5 minutes to survive it. I had to use Final Form twice lol. It was really fun to watch all of the aerial combos and drive upgrades pay off in this fight, and I felt awesome doing it all.
In all honesty Ventus and Aqua are just as broken if not more in BBS.
Yeah but the difference is it didn’t match the story. Various characters are ridiculously strong gameplay wise, but only in KH2 did the character’s actual power level in the story match the devastation you brought in the gameplay.
its also the stages in KH1 were all mazes. Trying to get through some of them was a pain. Like Alice in wonderland stage, and Tarzan’s stage were really a pain. Even the last boss was a lot harder then KH2
