edit: dear gamedojo, get experienced people to run your tournaments and somehow don’t be so damn far from all the decent players and you’ll start getting better turnouts. also be courteous when you plan your events and look out for events by other people (ie. mine on the 9th). it’s not that hard to look at the eventhubs or srk calendar before you plan an event.

…Almost a completely diverse set of characters. I’m not saying Wesker isn’t good, but if you’re gonna complain about a lack of diversity, at least wait until the game gets more figured out and you start seeing the same teams and combinations everywhere.
As much as I dislike Wesker, you can’t hate on him right now. The game is still young, it’s too early to start crying about characters. Is it really that surprising that Wesker is the strongest character for now, a few weeks into the game? He was one of the best characters in Vanilla and barely changed so people already know how to play him. His worst matchup got nerfed so hard she isn’t even played anymore. He’s relatively easy to play with reliable combos. And he can fit on basically any team due to an easy to DHC from/to super, and a universally useful assist.
Again, I’m not saying that in 6 months or 6 years, or however long he still wont be dominant, but to complain about Wesker now, this early into the game is pretty meaningless and a waste of time. Let the damn game breathe and evolve before you start trying to talk like you have the game all figured out after 2 weeks when you obviously don’t.

The point I’m making is that just because they all used Wesker doesn’t actually mean anything when the game is 2 weeks old. No shit people complained about him since vanilla. Good thing this isn’t vanilla. If I complain about Yun day 1 in AE2012 does that mean he’s the best char in the game because people have complained about him since AE? It doesn’t mean shit.
Like I said, why are you surprised people went to Wesker? This was the first major, 2 weeks after the game came out. When the game hasn’t been explored yet, the characters that are proven to be solid are the obvious go-to characters. It doesn’t actually mean anything though. Wesker could be the best char in the game. He also might not even be top 5. You wont know until the game actually gets figured out.
