Like you said, those two are from the second series, and this game only covers the first. Perhaps we’ll see them in a sequel (if one is made, that is).
Speaking of the second series, I don’t recall any decent characters that are grapplers, nor can I recall any female fighters (other than Lyn/Lin). This will severly limit character options should a sequel be made. If Lin is used, she’d probably be very similar to Mamiya from the first game (I seem to recall her using a cross-bow in one of the episodes). As for grapplers, I guess their only option would be to bump up one of the small fry like they did with mr.Heart (I recall a Hulk Hogan look alike early in the second series, he might be a good candidate).

Shiro also plays a mean Kenshiro, although there aren’t many match vids available of this (I could only find a few vids of Shiro’s Kenshiro playing against Naori’s Shin).
I really improved my Kenshiro play by watching match vids of these two.
They can always put that new chick from the new movie, thats all they have left for women fighters.
There is still a lot of characters that can be put in the game if they make a sequel such as the wolf pack leader, that guy with the poofy hair with claws, the guy that looks like Rolento, and Kaoh would make a awesome final boss!
I think Capcom copied some of the characters from HnK and put them in Street Fighter, wasn’t it made in the mid-80’s and I thought I saw characters that looked like Zangief and Rolento.
Well, that chick is still in Raoh’s part, I don’t know how she’d fit in if the sequel were to be based on Hokuto no Ken 2’s storyline. My guess would that they’d use the grown up Lin, and that she’d play very similarly to the current Mamiya.
In general, there are TONS of characters they can potentially add. However, if it’s grapplers we’re talking about, then I can’t see who among the main characters can be passed off as one. Like I said before, the easiest way would be to pull another mr.Heart stunt and bump up one of the small fry and give him a grappler’s move set.
I agree. Being one of the pioneers of post-apocalyptic manga/anime titles, HnK has influenced many works (whether manga or game-related). I recall characters from HnK2 that look like the base for Zangief and Balrog (Claw) from SF2. Also, a lot of Jojo’s art looks very similar to HnK’s. On the other end of the spectrum, the series itself borrowed from popular pop culture personas at the time. From what I recall, there were characters based on mr.T, Hulk Hogan, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and the Legion of Doom (tag-team wrestlers from the WWF days)

perhaps hokuto no ken ver 1.5 would have additionaly characters , like ryuuga , shu , the big guy who protects yuria or even the fake toki .
Just for the record: Souther looks/acts a HELLUA lot like Urien. In fact his E color has brown skin with white hair! Madness!

Yeah, that would be excellent. I’m hoping for this also. Let’s just hope that, if they do go with a ver 1.5, and if Amoeba (the fake Toki) is included, that they tone him and Toki down, or else we’ll have twice the cheapness that the current game offers!
Although game-wise, it would be good not to stick to the story so you don’t limit your character options, I am against this as a long time HnK fan. If they play around with the HnK universe and alter the story in any way, I will personally pay a visit to the people in charge of this in Japan and kick the crap out of them!
Yeah, that would be cool. And if he’s playing against Raoh, the FKO would have an alternate version where he eggs Raoh and then steals his horse in the confusion

Why the hell did AI took that game off, it was probably a game that did felt like you were in the HnK universe by punching 40 times in a row in less than 5 seconds!
But that would’n make any sense…they have two totally diffrent Nanto styles.(Nanto Suicho-Ken, and Nanto Hakuro-Ken) and Shuu just looks like a million times more badass than Rei with his eyes clawed out n shit.
