2ms response time has nothing to do with input lag. People should research more before posting stuff that may sway a fairly big money purchase. Also, testing lag by how you hit your links is… not reliable to say the least.
I think what he might be referring to is an earlier post that stated ASUS support had a rule of thumb for their monitors which was “1920x1080 native resolution, 2ms response time” = virtually input lag free.
LMAO. I honestly don’t believe that 1-bit.
Now on the topic of resolution, me thinks if the monitor is native 1080 but sf runs at 720, some lag must be introduced. At least that’s my take based on input in this thread. Which does go against the grain that the evo monitor was tested “lag free”
*Gosh this thread needs a refresh
For the PS3, yes.
The Xbox however supports hardware upscaling allowing us to send a native resolution (i.e. 1080p) image to the monitor, thus negating the monitor’s requirement to rescale the image for display which typically invokes additional lag.
32" tc-l32x1 alpha ips panel.
I think the alienware is def more responsive and is proven by cicada to have less lag than the asus and the panny.
so i’ve decided that i will pick up one of these 3 monitors, and i would like you guy’s opninion.
Asus VH242H or Asus VE247H or Viewsonic VX2439WM
Does anyone have the SMTT (Small Monitor Test Tool) mentioned on the AVS site?
I did not intend my previous posts to be interpreted as facts, nor do I claim myself to be an expert. I thought I made that clear.
I am merely posting my impressions/experiences and relaying what I was told by ASUS tech support (which they also told to other people, if it is in fact erroneous then it should be noted in this thread since they will undoubtedly keep saying the same thing to anyone else who asks).
As always, thorough research should be done before any major purchase is made.
I will be buying one of Kray’s custom Vewlix cabs very soon. Obviously it seems I won’t be able to find the Panny L32X1. What would be the absolute best 32 inch LCD in terms of lag? Someone told me the L32X2 was good but after reading this thread it seems that is not the case. Money isn’t really an issue I just want something that is as lag free as possible.
It looks like the Samsung LNC530 is the best 32inch tv that you can actually buy now. 14ms of input lag.
Input lag test question
Hi guys,
I have a fairly old canon PS SD630. It has the ability to take video at 60fps.
I take stills of each frame and compare stopwatch results. As far as the camera is concerned, Is this accurate or do i need a “fancier” camera or to enable other options?
So long as you can get pictures where you can see the times on both stopwatches clearly you’re fine.
So 14ms would be like what in terms of frames like a half a frame?
Approximately a frame. 60 FPS is about 16.67 ms per frame.
anyone heard or had any experience with this monitor?
**Oh man…This Asus VH236H monitor came in a few days ago and I absolutely love it.
The quality is amazing, Monitors > TVs all day erryday.**
Where did you get this info? I thought the Samsung were notorious for being laggy…

The Samsung LE32C530 looks like it could be a new gem!!! The Samsung LN32C530 should be the US version and have the same specs and performance… but haven’t verified it yet and still researching.
Here’s a review of the LE32c530 and says the lag is only 14ms!!!

That link doesn’t leads to a review anymore, must have been moved. If you get definite info on the samsung please share. I’m just looking to get the best 32" tv possible so it’d be really helpful.
