The Netflix Thread

The Trail of the Chicago 7 teaser…

Not sure how I feel about this…

I’m with you man.

I feel terrible, Seth is a talented guy and smart but this doesn’t seem in his wheel house and frankly I don’t think it is needed. I mean what more can you do with that family that the original or some of the black family sitcoms that have followed didn’t do?

Make it animated?

Like The PJ’s, The Boondocks, The Proud Family and The Cleveland Show?

The question was what more can you do with that family. Animate them is pretty much it. I get there was a conditional or. This is what the board room’s rationale was for it’s existence.

Maybe it ends up like the flinstones and does end up a reallity

Netflix innability to commit to anything even semi long term has turned me off from watching any of their in house stuff anynore.

I don’t want to get into something only for it to be canceled because it’s not Stranger Things. If they cancel Glow im fucking done.

It is sadly how they have decided to drum up business. Blow money on a million different projects throw them at the platform and see what sticks.

Unfortunately due to various circumstances and their ballooning debt they are now starting to cancel projects that don’t have the buzz or a big enough name attached to warrant their cost.

i mean like netflix doing anime dubs after the series finishes.

Great Pretender and march comes like a lion and saiki are good dubs

So is beastars

…would’ve been nice if I could get another season of V-wars…but nope :frowning: Yeah yeah I was probably the only one that watched and liked it but still…

also would’ve been nice if more people cared about Hemlock Grove…I still like that theme music and opening:

Delicious^

Yeah but anime is a short term commitment unless you are doing One Piece, Boruto or one of those long running shows. You have a set number of episodes or seasons. An original show with no set ending or commitment to giving it one seems to their issue outside the Western animation like the recent Voltron and She Ra shows.

That’s a shame…

Okay…WHAT??

Ohhhhh…

Lupin is based on the books and stories of Maurice Leblanc which enchanted readers since 1905. The character Arsène Lupin would go on to inspire several adaptations including the famous Monkey Punch manga Lupin the Third . The new Netflix series is obviously a new adaptation that brings Lupin’s story to modern times and we have a feeling this show will eventually convince everyone that James Bond can and should be played by a black man.

I get it now…
