I unlocked everyone cept athena, how do I unlock her?

Wow that alone will change Haoh’s tier ranking I bet.

You have to beat the Arcade Mode to unlock Athena I think…if it aint that then beat Survivor mode…but I think its arcade…or Survivor Challenge Mode

Beat Arcade Mode for Athena. Beating Tag Mode gets you Mars People, beating the bosses in Survival Challenge gets you them.

In this game a little tidbit…the difference betweena running DP and a running fireball is that in a running DP you hold forward, then all you gotta do is do fireball and the button…EASY…for a fireball you gotta return to neutral first…then do the fireball…or it will do the DP motion bc the forward is already buffered in it.

Also to help me get DPS in general in this game I start the DP motion with DOWN…then I get it 100% of the time instead of some fireball.

Its not like its EWGF motion while running or something…

But…how Persona has the way of doing it is great…out of the sidestep…thats fucking brilliant…and THE ONLY WAY to do that combo…see for yourself…try it the regular way…you CANNOT do that combo in his combo vid that way…but how he describes it you can!!! (You can also combo this off the C tornado with Persona’s method!!!)

The thing though if you are thinking about pulling this on your friend (hehehe) is how much super it uses though including the sidestep.

So the notation for Persona’s Haoh running DP is-Dp+AB~P.And it has to be a special move in the game nothing fancy because IT TAKES OFF METER…but it does take the same amount of damage as a super…insane!!!

Man I’m having a hard time mastering Hotaru’s command Grab Break…that shit is hard to master…try it…HCF+K~AB…it can be done…but I’ve only done it like 3 times outta 30…Think its easy?? Try it for yourself, that and Geese’s Lvl 2 Ragin Storm are like SNK’S Just Frames of this game

Something else in this game…its funny how the damage scaling works…bc for some characters they have more damaging regular combos than combos WITH SUPERS…

Take the combo of doom I posted earlier with Hotaru…and take this combo here (complicated also) that does MORE than the super combo…

In the corner-AOP stance, d hop kick, cr.a,cr.C,a in BT stance,Up+Bxxqcb+d. Does more or about the fucking same as the combo that is “Break’d” (dont wanna say Broken that makes people think of MVC2 lol) then finished with the Orgasm Super.

Also Question for Arcadefire/Any Advanced Kisarah users- I’ve see in a combo vid where Kisarah does a DOUBLE OVERHEAD KICK or one that like Karas into another one…I know about her Cr. C and Slide Karas and I try to Kara with that to the Overheads but it doesnt OTG like it does in the combo vid.

Do you know how to get the OTG Overhead kick that Kisarah has??

Nevermind…it only took me 3 seconds to figure it out…but I will leave it up here in case others want to know about it-

Her double Overhead appears it can ONLY be Canceled after certain attacks, so I was very close to it with the idea of my Karas with C and D. ( In other words you cannot do it after forward+D/Back+D, DOES NOT WORK and just one normal will come out!!!)

This is how you do it-The OTG Kara Overhead with Kisarah-

Do her Sweep-Down D, Kara cancel quickly to Forward D but before you do that return to neutral so you dont get Hip Bazooka/Cheerleader Kick or some other special you DONT WANT. After the Forward D then do Back+D…there you have it…the last hit should OTG!!! So in essence you are really doing a…DOUBLE KARA!!! Yes…you 3s heads that’s what it is…Add the OTG to all Brandisher finishers!!!

Now what is the combo its in…hehehe I’ve said enough already…

^ Yeah, I really needa start using Kisarah’s schoolbag moves more. I just use alot of normals and occasionaly throw out a cheerleader kick when I have meter.

I use this mixup with Kisarah- On wakeup HITCONFIRM cr. b,cr.a to b ch. Kick to Super,
Command Grab, Reg Grab, Counter Bag move, Quick Overhead qcb+a bag move to follow ups, Low bag move to follow ups, Mix all those up and she has a pretty lethal wakeup game!!

You’re right you do have to beat Arcade Mode to open Godness Athena and to open up Mars People you have to beat Tag Mode. Survivor Challenge Mode is were you open the bosses. BTW Dark Gesse where are you form? I been getting a lot of people to play this gane and they love it.

Know this about Kisarah also, Off a Command Grab you CAN link cr. b,cr.a, cheerleader kickxxkick super in air.

Also off a Counter School Bag move (qcb+C if it connects first aka the opponent attacks and she switches sides) you can link if done FAST after her booty bump a qcf+D Cheerleader kick. This is great bc this is in essence the only one you can JUGGLE OFF OF.

So you do this:

Qcb+C, Opponent hits high, you counter, she rolls behind opponent, does booty bump, you IMMEDIATELY do qcf+D,(land) then do qcf+bxxair kick super. Or there’s some other things you can do but I’m stopping right there.

The beauty of all this is that you can cancel all of this…and makes her wakeup game even deadlier!!

Ooohh.I know you all love the C color for Kisarah…her blonde look, but I like the B and D colors…looks like KULA…the beast in XI…

Damn you’re far. I live up in Westchester, NY near the Bronx. Not too many people up here play SNK fighters. Which kinda of sucks. would like to have a few matches with you. I can’t wait for this game to hit on the X-Box 360 and hopefully the online play will be lag-free so that we can all get matches going on. Anyways good stuff you wrote about Kisarah. I’m going to try her out later this week.

So can throws can be ducked in this game? It’s weird, but I’ve been able to duck some character’s throw attempts in this game. So I ask you guys, can they be ducked???

yep ducking is the way to avoid the strong run throw game.

Now I mixup the Command Grab with the normal grab with Kisarah because what I’ve noticed is she walks forward a bit before the Command Grab…that is not good…that is easy to see and snuff out. But with the Regular Grab its good stuff!! (She doesn’t walk forward a little bit)

Also here’s another little tidbit/secret- YOU CAN supercancel Kisarah’s Command Grab if fast enough to the Splash Air Dance or Air Kick Super(do it when she cheerleader kicks the opponent)…the timing is strict but HOLY SHIT THE TIMING TO BREAK HOTARU’S COMMAND GRAB IS MUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH STRICTER.

If you really wanna see fancy Kisarah can TRIPLE KARA…hehehe But I’ll stop there…

And yeah her normals…esp. st. a ARE GOOD…st. a is pretty damn fast…the CPU ABUSES it with her…lol Last Kisarah wakeup tidbit- Also you can use Close/Far St. C/ D on wakeup with her.

Okay lets go over this-St. C I dont use much unless I wanna delay because it comes out VERY SLOW on wakeup…but Close st D you can use and hitconfirm to b Cheerleader kick or do Counterhit set ups…you can even do Counterhit setups with st. a CVS2 Rolento style or KOF Choi style!!!(Except hers pushes you back a bit)

EDIT: Okay from what I see let me clear this up for some people…
Have you heard of Alternating Defense in KOF? If not let me be simple before I go advanced.

Merely ducking and crouching and blocking will still GET YOU THROWN…I’ve tested it.

But “ducking when you are about to be thrown” evades throw attempts and has been in many KOF games…first comes to mind in KOF2002/NeoWave-Evade Ralf and Clark’s Command Grabs by ducking immediately on wakeup from standing position then returning to standing.

This is known as Alternating Defense a Chinese Secret from Orochinagi.com!!! (I wnder how many more secrets to tell you guys…lol)

So in summary-Ducking down-back from a standing position then returning to standing…that is what you do to evade throws…but if you abuse this of course it sets its own little mindgame for your opponent…(just bait you then go low/overhead…but not throw because them whiffing a throw during Alternating Defense will LEAVE THEM OPEN)

Think of it like Just Defens-ing pressing down-back then immediately going back to neutral/standing.

Alternating Defense takes practice to master…TRUST ME (I know you guys do)

Which one are you talking about? The Orgasm Super??? Yes it can be blocked but you must do it THE WHOLE WAY…if not THE LAST PART (iM SURE THE MOST IRRITATING) will get you…

Know this about Mudman…his Dive kick IS AN OVERHEAD…WTF???

Well I finally got down the Hotaru command grab break. It’s so weird, that I don’t know what to do with it really. I’m gonna play around with it and see what I come up with.

You can do the BT D after it and Break to Orgasm Super/ Cr.C to BT D juggle/throw or MANY MANY other options…

What is the timing for the Break did you figure it out? I’ve counted now…thats like 6 times out of 50 I’ve been able to pull it off…
