A lot of the niceties do take loading. They don’t explain the PS2 version’s loading time (there’s no stage select – should ‘preselect’ stage while the characters are selected if you ask me and load characters immediately as they are picked) take so long, but I can only imagine there’s some form of elite compression at work on the Atomiswave to make it take so damn long. Elite compression comes at a premium, though.
Can anyone confirm the load time issues…I’ve been told the loading problem doesn’t exist in the original ps2 NGBC, but it does exist in the burns.

And one of my local arcades has it (along with XI, and RF2), I tried out all three today, RF2 is still a little too different, XI was pretty decent (only played it once, same for RF2), and NBC was a welcome surprise. Mr. Big is too good though, and love how they brought back RB Mai. XD
Ok, so I find it frustrating to get that Robert combo to work.
c.A, c.A, b.B, low fb x super.
I can’t cancel anything off the b.B on a consistent basis except for his qcb+k move. Or maybe bc I’m playing on pad.
Same w/Kim; after the 2 c.A’s I can’t get the s.B or even super cancel after his qcb+p x3. Ghetto system ftw!
edit - Maybe I’ve got the Kim combo all wrong. I think it’s a s.B after the 2 c.A’s haha.
You’re messing those up the same way i was. But it’s alright, it’s really easy to get them to work. For the Robert combo, do cr. A x2, b. B, then I do hcf + B, then hcb + A. It works like a charm for me.
About the Kim combo, it’s not qcb+A x3 into super. I thought that for like half a week and wondered why the fuck it wouldn’t come out. Instead it’s: qcb +C x2, then d,u+A, then xx super.

For those who haven’t done so already, I HIGHLY recommend checking out the individual character vids on SNKP’s official NGBC page, located here: http://www.snkplaymore.jp/official/nbc/download/index.html. They give a lot of nifty combos and tricks you might not know about, like the fact that Hanzo can cancel his rdp+k move into his teleport, which can then be supercanceled into his qcbX2 + p super. Good stuff indeed.

The Robert cA, b+B,weak low/high fb, x super. Just do db+A, db, b+B, hcf + A/B, super. Basically you buffer the whole combo. Stick with cBx2 with Kim. Super cancel with Kim is qcb+Cx2, qcb+A, SCANCEL Hou’ou Kyaku!
The Robert one I have no problem w/anymore. The Kim one I’ll sort out later. Even c.Bx2 xx super for Mr.Big feels akward.

On one hand this game looks like it has hope. On the other hand Mr. Big vs. Mr. Big matches just convince me how broken he is =( 15 seconds of nothing but both characters pressing crouch A just out of the opponent’s range with neither of them daring to jump cause of the fear of the 100 different uber anti airs…
Ahhhhhhhh so you have seen the match vids now…see what I mean…too easy to see how good he is…maybe hold a tourney with a soft ban of Big…since HE IS GOD TIER…

I would think this game wouldn’t be half bad if there was a ban on at least Mr. Big. I can’t really tell how bad Kim or Marco are, but they at least seem beatable in comparison.
So is Mr. Big, you just gotta know how…though he clearly is a little better than everyone else, it’s not by much. It’s kinda like Eddie back in #R, lots of broken stuff, but you an still take him out.
