The NEOGEO Battle Coliseum Mega-thread

:u: good question, I’ll check right now.

edit: tried it about 15 times.
they hit the ground first.

also, though you can’t do it in a real match, his level 1 neogeo beam connects with his level 3 neogeo beam.

double stuff edit: if you want to reset them with whatever in the corner, an IAD xx lightning attack would work for mix up.

I’m also experimenting with Yuki’s j.c and standing c. they both have very weird angles but I have a feeling they could be of some use (i.e. far standing c links into ng ranbu super)

:u: stuff I posted earlier but edited it and added a bunch of stuff.

I didn’t think I’d figure out this much about Yuki. But, I’m glad I did. It made me like/want to use the character A LOT more.

Funny you guys were just mentioning MST…

I just uploaded ALL of his older matches into a playlist! Look at the link in my sig, and it will be right at the top. =)

In the description, I mention all the characters he plays - just about all low tier! Some of his opponents are also interesting: Mars People, Cyber Woo, King Lion, Kisarah, and others.

Well worth watching for anyone who likes this game. =)

Enjoy,
Josh.

Oh Josh you still going to Ohayocon? I’ll be there Saturday if you want to get in some games.

Thank you good man. I’m downloading his matches right now! Gonna practice some of the stuff MST does in matches along with what Stuart posted.

Anyone knows why MST use’s Submarine Screw for corner pressure? Huge hitbox perhaps?
And his Ai isn’t too bad either. It’s good to see what potential she has.

Yes I know why!! Because I put it in my Yuki Primer in his Guardcrush string…
If you read my Yuki Primer you will see this in there!

I put all this there for a reason guys!!

I’ve already scoped out all this stuff for you..just TRUST ME…

Oh, man. Geese, your fire and earth trap is so much easier than it seems. It’s not actually that hard for Athena to score a knockdown in the corner. Her sweep is amazing.

Good. I’ll have to find it then. Maybe this could lead to some Yuki casuals:lovin:

Does anyone have a link to the special tag combos (like hanzo/fuma, etc.)?

Here:
HANZO & FUUMA

HANZO: Connect with his C/D Ninpo Kohrin Kazan (qcb+any), then motion
f,d,df+AE anytime after.

  • Hanzo starts with a close range knife slash.

FUUMA: Connect with his Satsu Chouken throw (hcb+C when near), then motion
qcf,qcf+CE anytime after.

  • Fuuma starts with a close range knife slash.

Do you want anyone else(like the WHOLE cast)?

EDIT: Here’s anyone else:
YUKI & AI

YUKI: Perform the A,B, and Start Memory Card Slash(d,d+A/B/Start) moves, then
motion qcf, hcb+AE before any of the Memory Card Slashes wear off.

  • Yuki starts with a ground-launched Riding Hero. Upon hitting, Yuki and Ai
form Atomic Guy, while opponent is left juggled.
  • You can move around and attack with Atomic Guy, but he splits back to Yuki
and Ai automatically after around 5 seconds, or if he is hit.
  • All of Atomic Guy’s moves are unblockable. The Megaton Spark works similar
to Ai’s Lightning Ball and Atomic Guy is invincible during the move. Using
    it returns Yuki to normal.

ATOMIC GUY
Press P Atomic Punch
Press K Atomic Sliding
any in air Atomic Straight
Press ABC Megaton Spark
b,b Cancel (Returns Yuki to normal)

  • After transforming in the corner, you can connect an Atomic Sliding into an
Atomic Punch and finish off with the Megaton Spark for an easy combo.

AI: Perform a Lightning Ball (ABC while on Joy Joy Balloon), then motion
qcb, qcb+CE after getting off the balloon.

  • Ai starts by pulling out a gun similar to Marco’s Heavy Machine gun,can hit up close and gun can trigger the SDA from full-screen(thx 2 Shiki)

KYO & IORI

KYO: Connect with new Dokugami chain (qcf+C,qcf+C,qcf+A,qcf+K,hcb+C), then
motion qcb,hcf+AE.

  • Kyo starts with a dashing (D) Hikigane, which can combo from his Dokugami
    chain in the corner.

IORI: Connect with his Ya Sakazuki DM (qcb, hcf+P), then motion qcf, qcf+CE.

  • Iori starts with his LDM from KOF2003 (except this isn’t an overhead). This
is probably the easiest Special D-Assault to connect with, since opponent
    is unable to move.

KAEDE & MORIYA

KAEDE: Super Cancel his Shinmei Renjin Zan (qcb+P) into either DM (which does
not have to hit), then motion d,d+AE anytime after.

  • Kaede starts with a close C slash.

MORIYA: Perform his Taitou Hogetsu (b,d,db+A/B/C), then motion f,hcf+CE.

  • Moriya starts with his Ittou (df+A) slash.
  • Good luck getting the Taitou Hogetsu to launch in the first place, as it
    requires very strict motioning.

TERRY BOGARD & ROCK HOWARD

TERRY: Perform a Charge Run (hcf+K) without the Charge Kick, then motion
b,f,f+AE anytime after. Terry must complete the run animation.

  • Terry starts with a Rising Upper, which has poor range, but comes out
    pretty fast.

ROCK: Perform a Rage Run: Type Shift (qcb+D) and successfully switch sides,
then motion b,d,db+CE anytime after.

  • Rock starts with the (A) Rising Tackle, and all 3 hits must connect on
opponent on the ground for the rest of the move to launch. Despite the
animation, the move has no priority whatsoever.

HAOHMARU & GENJURO

HAOHMARU: Activate the Ikari Bakuha (ABC), then motion df,df+AE before its
effects wear off.

  • Haohmaru starts with his close C slash.

GENJURO: Activate the Ikari Bakuha (ABC), then motion f,b,f+CE before its
effects wear off.

  • Genjuro starts with a far B slash.

MR. KARATE & ROBERT GARCIA

MR. KARATE: Connect a Tenchi Haoh Ken (qcf, qcf+P), then motion qcf,b,f+AE
anytime after.

  • Mr. Karate starts by stepping forward with a punch (the 1st hit of his
    Buryoko Ranbu minus the autoguard).

ROBERT: Connect a Hien Senpuu Kyaku Finisher (qcb+K 4 times, qcf+K), then
motion qcb,f,b+CE anytime after.

  • Robert starts with his Ura Ken backfist.

LATE EDIT: Anyone not on the list doesn’t have a SDA. Just a heads up.

I know that it’s just copied from Tel’s FAQ, but it’s wrong about Ai’s SDA.
Her gun can trigger the SDA from FULL-SCREEN, not just from up close.

Thanks, It’s edited.

ok I’m getting real heavy into this game. Any good Haoh teams? Like who would compliment him the best? Sorry if the info is already out there. I cant read too much cause I’m at work =/

Holy shit I gotta go try those out now. I just like testing all the special moves in practice mode.

Thanks Edge!

Are there any more special tag combos? Specifically ones for Shermie, K’, Mudman, Geese or Mars?

K’:None. apparently according to character placement on the character select screen his partner would be Shermie??? But they have no relatioship at all.

Shermie: None. Same as K’. I guess SNK didn’t put in Chris or Yashiro so she has no stories/relationships with anyone.

Mudman/Marz People: NONE.

Geese: None either. I would have expected him to have one with Mr. Big at least.

Yes this is a gripe with the game I have…people like Big-Geese have no Special Tag combos…

But oh well…like I say NGBC2 has hope…and why not a chance of NGBC2? They are redoing the sprites for KOFXII…this means they can use some of these for NGBC2…correct?

Hopefully if NGBC2 comes out Mai gets her actual partner: Andy not Kim. I just don’t want Kula to be K’s partner. One of my favorite things about NGBC is no Kula.

I used Haohmaru/Mars People as a main, but it dies too bad to Mudman.

Also another tidbit about the SDAs guys…Special Deadly Assaults for the most part have no practical function…

They do even LESS to the red bar than actual DAS…

However you will see Jon Badwolf land a stylish Terry-Rock one in a tournament match…watch how LITTLE it takes off.

NGBC2 needs far more SDAs though…less restrictions on doing them and they need to have certain effects…

Like Mizuki and Chizuru’s needs to reverse your controls or some shit…

I need a mudman team, I guess. He IS in my avatar. Maybe I’ll do Mud/Hanzou or Mud/Fuuma just to rep dat WHP.

And here I was thinking it was ACTUALLY worth something. Seems to be nothing more than a fan service.:annoy:
