The NEOGEO Battle Coliseum Mega-thread

Holy shit, could you? I could pay you for your effort and shit, but not as much as a hotel.

I’ll keep you in the loop as far as me getting a hotel…

  1. thats right
  2. thats right
  3. only useful in combos, although hcb+B might actually be useful now that it has better low invincibility.

and K’ is lame in this game, he’s really weak here.

Whoa, good shit. Thanks, Geese.

Hey I’m a K’ player. I try and make that shit work…

lol people are still asking this question? K’ is shit in NGBC. I think that’s probably the 156th time I’ve said it since this game came out.

I’m still messing around with K’. I don’t see his flaws yet cuz I just started playing the game. It really sucks that his Heaven Drive has that MAJOR pullback on it. That pretty much negates it’s use in combos aside from corner:st.C>fwd.A>A Iron trigger>Second Shell. It doesn’t even connect after st.C>fwd+A.

And his Chain Drive doesn’t connect on air opponents and I wish his Heat Drive had Ultimate juggle and his A Crow Bites. That’s why I’m replacing him with Mai.

Heaven’s Drive does horrible damage, it’s not worth the meter you spend on it. The only use that move has is to chip someone to death. Chain Drive also doesn’t do enough damage to validate meter spent on it. Heat Drive is the only super you should ever use your meter on.

I realized that when I tested all his supers. The damage from Chain drive is barely above Heat Drive. Is Narrow Spike even safe on block?

The only version of K’ I really dedicate time to is KOF XI K’.

Narrow Spike could be safe if you spaced it right, but thanks to GCFS, nothing like that can truly be safe on block.

It’s looks like I’m gonna have to do some major testing. Friggin 3 teams I like now and I can’t even decide on a main team. Well, at I have some good combinations. I’m just wondering though:
With Robert, what opponent should I play more offensive/turtle when I fight? For instance should I turtle against Kim?

I have a modifcation on Terry’s preasure string that was posted above, I havnt tested it on a live opponent yet so i was hoping someone could try it out and tell me how viable and useful it would be in actual match.

Preasure string: Close C to powerdunk break to Crouching B to rising upper to hcf+K to powerdunk break to crouching B to rising upper to powerwave©.

Embryo: I’d have to test it, but there’s a chance the opponent could step through the Power Wave at the end of the string and punish your recovery.

Hatred Edge: Robert is hard to play offensively at first due to charge requirements. In general I would focus on playing defensively until you land a throw or another type of knockdown, then start pressuring.

Alright. I’ll try that. I play too damn offensive for my own good anyway.

Yay Blake is finally commenting on Robert…yay!

What, is there demand for Robert analysis? I must have missed something.

I’m starting to use Lee, but how do you jump straight up for a hit after his qcf+P after his F,B,F+P?

I tried high fast jumping after the hit, but still nothing!

Dude I had to cover your ass for Robert AND HANZO…

I said a while back “I’ll wait and see if Blake shows up…if he doesnt I’ll fill in.”

So I had to fill in!!!

Hello everyone, dunno if this is old news, but I just figured this out today: Kim has an alternate motion for the Phoenix Flattener!

Besides the standard way, you can also start at Down and perform a backwards 270. This would read as follows: d, d/b, b, u/b, u, u/f, f+K.

I find this way many times easier on a stick, and can now get Kim’s super cancel even more consistently than I used to on pad. Really needed to start playing this game on stick anyway, since throws & rolls are SO much easier, and this was about the last remaining hurdle!

So, if any of you out there are learning Kim and having trouble with this combo, this might be worth a shot! =)
