Look for the arms to extend. Left arm extending more than right is for LP break, Right more than left is RP throws then both extending about the same distance is LP+RP break. Go in to practice mode and set a CPU opponent to do nothing but throws and that will help bum.
As Nick said, this is how you’ll learn how to break throws in Tekken. Just need to train yourself to see the arms and timing to break them. Although I didn’t learn how to break throws this way (I learned it purely on playing experience… the proverbial light bulb turned on and I was able to break throws more and more as I played. For me, throw breaking exercise in practice mode has been more for “keeping up” with it vs. learning.
The true way of learning how to break throws is to play competition (because it’s unexpected throws mostly). Once you get good enough, you’ll be able to see throws coming and, instead of breaking, you can duck them and launch them for whiffing the throw.
For me, I don’t throw that often b/c I’ve been playing comp that mostly break my throws. However, I sometimes use broken throws for positional advantage (some throws put opponents on different sides/angles of the stage after broken, which may help my overall game strat).
Lots of stuff to consider in this game…
It sure sounds like it. I’ll be sure to get T6.
I see the arms but i have a bad habit of pushing 1 break off reaction.
Oh god, that throw breaking to get position is awesome. I hadn’t even thought of that >.<
Just hope they don’t duck I guess.
shocked vegas hasn’t posted
Yeah, I had that issue as well (more like people using a certain throw more than others and trains me to break that throw too much and messing up my other throw escapes).
The throw breaking to get position is really too subtle for most to notice until it’s too late. I can tell most of the time if they are aware of their positioning and try to react to their “relocation” of the stage.
One thing in mind tho: when breaking throws, the opp breaking the throw gets frame advantage. Just be careful when trying to do something after they break the throw.
Bad news… I won’t be able to make it to the Sunday ranbat.
I’ll do my best to not let these Street Fighter players win. I look forward to playing you in the future Hai.
Don’t worry about me, I suck >_>
Sorry to hear that you can’t make it HaiGuy =/
I’ll give a heads up about when I’ll be there and if I can’t get there later today.
Guess I should a checked the forums before going up there thursday. Every thing turned out alright though. We ended up with 8 - 10 people by the end of it, some on sf4 and some on t6(blah). Patchi and thunder y hast thou forsaken gameyard?
Either way I got to try out that tekken and it feels like your fighting in butter. The timing is way less strict than sf4. The combos were giving me a hard time at first too until I realized that they’re just like sf4 combos but in super slow motion.
shit, people went? I shoulda gone. Oh well, sunday.
So, I’ll be there tomorrow, what time is everyone getting there?
I wanna get there around 4pm or so.
Lame =/
Once again, looking for a ride out to Game Yard tomorrow from A2. Will pay half the gas.
