My advice…
Get used to the camera controls ASAP. Get used to using your index finger to pan the camera around using the D pad. At first, it’s cumbersome, but once you get used to it, it’s fine.
When you first start playing, you will want to kill yourself. The first Wyvern you face will be incredibly hard. But you have to find it’s weak spots and punish him. You can tell if more blood is squirting than from normal hits.
Sword Shield is pretty good for beginners since you can block and attack pretty fast. But choose a weapon that you really like, and try to master it. Remember that blocking and rolling are your friends. Learn to read what attacks the Wyvern is going to do. Spend your first couple tries just reading how the wyvern attacks and it’s attack patterns.

I don’t mind the review, but they should honestly have two reviewers ala Game Informer and the “Second Opinion”. It’s nice to hear the perspective of someone like this that has played the previous game, but what about those that did not, nor have not ever played MH? Put the game in someones hands who has not played it, and the review would/could be completely different.
Ok, so I finally got to 7/7 of the Basic Training. I have to hunt the Giadrome and my instructor gives me these knives to throw.
I ended up wasting all of 'em 'cause I can’t throw for shit. 
Is there some king of lock-on system that I’m missing? Any tips on throwing stuff? I wasted most of my paintballs too.

yea throwing stuff can be kinda tricky at first. Facing them head on and trying to aim can be somewhat misleading so I try to throw them at an angle, makes it easier to judge where its going.
