It’s been a month. To the veterans where does World stand compared to the previous games? For me, this is definitely my favorite MH game now.
Need G Rank and I wish they separated Story and online like in past games, but besides that and the online confusion I’m loving it.
The best Monster Hunter to date. No question. Aside weapon tutorials for new players being pretty barebones, pretty much every frustrating or annoying part of MonHun has been done away with due to quality of life changes. Top that off with fantastic gameplay and both refreshing and fun changes to weapons, Capcom knocked out of the park, no, the stratosphere, with Monster Hunter World. Praise Capcom.

I didn’t play much Generations and I put the most time into MHFU, which is why it’s placed so high. 4U gave me Stygian Zinogre and Gore Magala, as well as the Charge Blade and Insect Glaive, so it remains my favorite until World. I hope World can attain the level of monster variety 4U/Generations had.

I feel like Brachydios and Gore Magala will make returns because both of their designs are awesome and they’re both fan favorites.
I feel like brachy is almost a lock. Unique element and came as a one-off new monster. Gore magala, yea he’s too fucking cool to dismiss.
And yea, the only MH games I havent played are generations and I’d say 4U because I only played it for 45 hours so it barely counts. But compared to all the others, it is the best. I have plenty to do before the inevitable G-rank. Even though not a gripe, I do wish there had been a new weapon but whatever. It’s not like it detracts from anything.

Oh come on, it’s his wings and his back. IG CRUSHES diablos. You can pretty much shit on him when he starts charging around like a moron. Where you usually guard or dodge, you can kind of just fly around , darth maul him at the end of the animation then rinse and repeat.
I think it’s great. I wish they made things like squads easier and stuff like the gathering hall got actually used like in other games. Overall it’s really good.
One thing, not a knock of world, is that the other games have a lot of extra monsters and quests because they come out late in the West so we get the Ultimate versions. It’s odd playing the vanilla game but it makes me excited for what’s to come.
G rank has never been in at the start. It always comes as part of a later version. I expect we’ll get it as part of an update (or hopefully an expansion) down the line.
I’d put Tri Ultimate where you have FU. I really loved Tri Ultimate. It was my proper exposure to the series.

I skipped the 3rd generation games entirely. I didn’t like the idea of playing Monster Hunter on the Wii. Fuck trying to make that game work with wiimotes and having a bad online network.
It came with a classic pro controller. No one actually used the Wii mote. The game was actually superior on the Wii U because of the tablet functionality. The full game was also on 3DS.
