Beat a Black Diablos on my first attempt. Granted it was a group (my SOS flare). Didn’t know that it didn’t have much life and that the quest was only 15 minutes. Felt almost like the beta once again.

I’ve got a friend who was farming him for a couple of the pieces as it’s a good set for charge blade. At first he thought it was going to be impossible as it killed him a couple of times then he got used to the fight and all the tricks and was like… Man this is so easy.

Monster Hunter is just like that. It’s one of the cool things about the game. It’s not an unfair game and with enough prep you can make basically any fight trivial if you’re dedicated enough.

so I finally beat Anjanath solo, surprisingly… “making it rain” with the bow weapon really wears things down, apparently…even though all the shrapnel or whatever only does 1 or 2 damage each… it’s like it staggers them quite a bit, leaving them open for all kinds of other shit. Yeah, it looks like the bow will be my main squeeze for now.

I’m just past the segment with Zora Magdaros now.

*sidenote— something like Diablo 3’s “transmogrification” would be awesome in this game… I can make better helmets right now but I love the way the “Pukei” hood/mask looks though… quick explanation of D3’s transmog deal for those unfamiliar— you can change items to look like something else…so you could always have whatever gear has the stats you want…BUT you can change that shit to look like something cool…this eliminates the problem many games have where some items have superior stats…but they don’t look as cool as certain other items that are low tier in comparison. It really opens up the customization quite a bit when a game has this.

What to do for my 3rd solo-weapon file?
Probably going to double-up, or something.

Would’ve been nice if there were more save files available.

I mean, is there any reason to aside from picking the other gender? If you want to try a new weapon from the start you can do that since there are no character levels. Just buy/forge base equipment

Personal preference, really.

I’ve only been doing solo-weapon playthroughs since mid MHFU days and onward, focusing on the weapons I like using (Lance and Bow) and maybe using a random interest weapon.

I think the last time that I did any mid-game weapon switching was back in early MHFU days, farming BEDJ from G-rank Chameleos using DB, lol.

I believe previous XX introduced a transmog system. Dunno why they didn’t carry it over here.

That said, I’d be fine with it if there were more options to change armor colors. Running Rathalos Helm beta with Rath Soul chest and waist pieces and I wish there were ways to better color coordinate them. As it stands, I can’t recolor the blue and orange bits of those pieces.

Tried to test out capturing a monster skills and the LBG on the great Jagras but the only monster running the show in the Great Forrest are Anajanath, Rathalos, and Rathian.

And I’m not ready for neither one of those fuckers yet!!

and that reminds me… I noticed barroth version of the Great Sword…the damage upgrade would be soooo nice (I think it was 720)…but goddamn that shit is UGLY, man. Transmog system is seriously needed here. I still might prefer switch axe as my choice of big weapon though… great sword is just unbearably slow, imo.

I responded to an SOS earlier tonight with some people fighting Anjanath… first attempt, people died too much, then the next attempt it was just me and 1 other person since the others left, and we couldn’t kill it fast enough. Heh, it was cool to see Tobi show up and start some shit with Anjanath though.

Finally took down Nerg on the second attempt. Died the first time because I decided to evade instead of just block. This fucker’s dive attack has CE Bison psycho crusher hitboxes, and then some.

Yeah, some people just don’t get it. He’s honestly one of the easiest Elder Dragons I’ve fought (other than Zorah and Dahren).

I kind of wonder about how some people will ever complete the story.

I’m pretty much the same. I was using Lance and Switch Axe playing solo until I exhausted all the town stuff then I went to the city and did co-op. I did basically the same thing this time around.

I’m thinking of using bowgun or SnS, Hunter’s Horn or something different to try change it up now I’m like HR47.

After completing story mode ive been trying to farm for a bow build. I need to farm legiana, kirin, kulu and diablos. I was farming kulu and killed him by accident. The hammer is serious lol

I just got a weapon called Xeno Zauta. It’s worse than another weapon I have called Love’s Sorrow for now. I say for now because it has two level 3 gem slots on it which frankly is mental.
