Well then I will be taking a break from the main story missions and just do nothing but resource grinding.
I was farming Teostra for Blue Prominence the R8 Fire Greatlance. I got it, I had to turn off join requests though. Too many people eating his flying nuke.
I’m more annoyed at the players who don’t understand that you can capture outside of capture quests. I mean, fuck idiots who a) mess up a trap by attacking a limping monster, drawing it away from the trap, b) mess up a trap by attacking a sleeping monster before I can set up the trap, c) fucking wail away at a trapped monster, hitting me out before I can toss tranq bombs. Tranq ammo has been a lifesaver for the latter. Two shots and the monster’s down for the count. Works so fast, I’m guessing these fuckers probably don’t understand why they can’t carve shit.
goddamn, man… Anjanath is the first ridiculous monster in the game, I see… only time I even came close to beating that piece of shit so far is when Rathalos showed up to beat his stupid ass for a while… I should’ve clipped that, actually… Anjanath got picked up and body-slammed for **705 **points of damage. It was delicious to see 
*Lame thing about “Pookie” though… you can’t even enjoy those moments, since he’s such a wimp… Pookie typically flies away with the quickness when something bigger than him starts attacking.
*I gave the Gun-Lance a 2nd chance yesterday and finally I kinda like it… other weapons are still more interesting/fun though.
Anjanath is the first one that’s that aggressive, going after you like you looked at his girl wrong.
If you’re solo, it really helps to learn all the environmental stuff - dropping rocks on his head, getting him stuck in the vines, etc. And when he runs off to sleep, hit him with a shock trap and then tranq bombs to capture him.
I’m still on low rank because I’m a lazy fuck. Getting there, though. Getting there. I’m thinking of gearing myself full ways into insect glaive abilities like Airborne and Master Mounter, just to fully specialize myself.
EDIT: I think I can get Master Mounter and Jump Master by getting my greasy mitts on a Rider’s Charm. I know what’s on my to-do list now.

I’m helping some my buddies who still in low rank to catch up to where I’m at and I’m noticing a lot of guys HR 20-35 grinding low rank monsters. They must have rushed through assigned missions and hit a wall.
Brachy wasn’t annoying, brachy was fun and fair and badass and so was his design and his weapons and his armor.

Then I was like alright can’t fuck with this mofo. Proceeded to grind and join quests/sos just to have that bitch nose dive into the squad leader and end the quest…so…many…times…

I mean, he’s been around forever fucking up my shit but the game won’t recognize his presence at all in story mode it seems.
