I’m completely lost as to what to do with nergigantes dive. Sometimes it just doesn’t give you any time to sheathe your weapon and dive. Im doing fine with prettyy much everything in that fight except the dive. It’s literally the only thing that kills me every time.
If he happens to to the spike explosion it gets you on your dive recovery…baaah

i say watch out for his spikes. once they turn black. be prepared to RUN THE FUCK AWAY. anticipate his dive. even then there is still 90% chance you will get hit.
To avoid the dive you have to literally roll to the side at the last second.
You can’t be too close to the center or it will still nail you though.
It’s usually just better to Superman it unless you can’t though.
Just don’t eat a knockdown into dive combo two-piece cause that usually kills anyone.
You can also use a vitality mantle to soften the blow.

I just throw on my Gunlance and block the attack. Fuck dodging, lol.
You can block it with shields as well. I haven’t tried but I almost guarantee a flash pod would cancel that animation as well since he’s in the air.
Lots of weapons have dodge like skills as well like fade slashes. You should be able to time it right.
It does. You can increase the range and the window with armor. Another thing to try is Felyne food skills.
Problem with using a flash pod is he almost always does a full roar before the big dive and there’s not enough time to launch a pod without earplugs
Helps learn the timing. I was helping a friend with nergi and impressed I was dodging the dive with no evade perks.
Flash pods do drop him out the air. I carry a stack of flash bugs for everything that can fly.
playing this game feels like a career.

I thought so. I haven’t tried the fight with different weapons yet but I’m sure there are a lot of ways to get past it.
