Fuck the GL I’m becoming a CB main. This weapon is oodles of poodles of doodles of fun. I might also try out the insect glaive, never got the chance to do so.

I’m loving it.
It’s more casual friendly with crafting and the changes to tracking, Whetstones etc. But I can’t complain. The environments are crazy detailed and it’s as addictive as ever.
My only complaint is all the first timers that don’t even know a third of their weapons movesets but it’s not a big deal. We’re nowhere near G quests or Elder Dragon hunts yet.

It was my main weapon in mh3. It’s loads of fun. It was also slightly broken in that game, I wonder if it’s more balanced now??
I played a solid 9 hours today and I loved every second of it. I wouldn’t say the game has been made more casual friendly. It’s just eliminated some obsolete, tedious mechanics that were never really fun or engaging to begin with. The fights are still as hard as ever and anjanath was OHKOing me with his fire lazor.
Also yea the tutorials are ass. Nowhere did it tell me about the red shield or elemental enhanced sword mechanics for the CB. And they’re both real fucking important.
I don’t like it. The best thing about it was the precision up/down/up/down combo which is gone. Instead it has a kind of rage into a finisher but it was never about the finisher. The finisher was about abusing elemental weaknesses, the rest of the time you’d stagger the monster and transition into wild swing spam. Honestly the more I’ve used it the new Switch Axe feels like a worse version of the Longsword.
