The Monster Hunter Thread: A Whole New World

I think it’s that PLUS the fact that they’re tier 2 while being difficult to fight. So there isn’t a whole lot of reason to fight them, plus they’re post game only monsters as well

Oh, I thought it was an all-time list, since I was going to say, shouldn’t Kulve be up there as well, since this monster was highly sought after. However as Gas stated, it was just the past week, so it makes complete sense.

The only thing I disagree upon with the article is their statement that Ruiner is popular due to it’s armor/weapon sets but it really has more to do with the fact that the particular event quest which involves the monster drops a guaranteed Great Spiritvein Gem which is the real reason why it’s so popular right now.

Zin also falls in that category as well because of the gem event involving itself, while Safi is truly the big one whose gears/weapons are clearly the meta.

I could see Teostra since its armor set still has really good but Odo is surprising indeed, however I’m quite shocked that Raging Brachy isn’t on the list, since it’s gears is easily meta, along with the strength of it’s weapons.

Would have been awesome if they were able to produce a real All-Time Top MHW hunt list, however I don’t know if Capcom kept all of that data and info from Vanilla MHW to now.

Nobody wants the Furious Rajang smoke anymore once they get what they need from it!!

Not all the Lightbreak weapons are meta. I guess people just stop once they get what they need.

Safi on the other hand is going to be hunted for awhil since people still have to get dracolite.

Sure, not all of them are, but many are just as good, and differences aren’t that drastic, while giving more utility over Safi weapons due to the extra lvl 3 gem slot all for a slightly less damage differential. Immortal reactor has other uses, moreover it’s the far cheaper route to go if you don’t want to run Safi 24/7.

However yes, it’s one of those runs that once you get what you need, it almost becomes irrelevant.

Safi will undoubtedly always be hunted due to dracos being an absolute requirement for upgrades, that is of course if Capcom decides to make another new armor/weapon set the new thing to get.

I’m assuming once Alatreon gets into the picture this could potentially change.

Did a few farming quests. It’s amazing how the monsters scale in size over time.

. . . . and Deviljho is a complete dick. Everytime he is on the map, he finds a way to let all parties know he’s there.

The AI of “invader” monsters is set to go after any fights happening on the map.

So if he’s there, I just need to kill him first :joy:

NO DUNG PODS FOR YOU!!

The secret is that Jho, especially Savage Jho, will target the bigger threat. If you back off enough, it’ll actually start attacking the other monster, and can even finish the job for you.

Oh that’s exactly what happened

Equipped that mantle and said " . . . . . thanks DJ?"

Amazing that after all the Jho nicknames I’ve seen, this is the first time I’ve seen anyone call him DJ.

So I am staying alive in MR pretty well as I’ve junked all my old armor. However, i feel like my damage output is atrocious. How buffed are these old enemies now?

Also, how do you farm these jewels?

Very.

EDIT:

Take note this is from around launch, so newer stuff is missing.

You’re gonna feel weak-ish for a while. Just make sure you’re as upgraded as you can be on the weapon tree and start looking at MR armor sets that have affinity related skills. Attack skills as well but affinity is higher priority.

Thing is a lot of us already had healthy Decoration collections when IB came out so we could at least use those to help but you don’t have much if you’ve just come right into IB. That said I don’t recommend going back to farming HR decos, just keep going. Once you get access to Tier 2 tempered monsters in MR, then you can start thinking about farming decos. You’ll get plenty of both the new and old ones.

Additionally, once your own MR is high enough, the Tempered Zinogre Event Quest is IIRC the best way to get decos now.

Thanks. Master Rank honestly starts to weed out some bad behaviors that I had while playing. I noticed that this isn’t just run and gun anymore. I know I should have been doing this before, but I am putting more thought into my loadouts. Seeing the crit hits on a monster is awesome.

Edit -

Also picked up light bow gun and ran a few quests. It’s cool, but isn’t doing anything for me.
