The MMA Thread. BJ Penn Didn't Die #HeDeadThough

oh yeah, no i think he’s a douche too… but good fighter nonetheless

I apologize if its old but has anyone seen this and wonder how thats even possible in his position?

Yeah that’s a very amazing clip.

A triangle is EXTREMELY difficult to land on somebody. Most BJJ practitioners have literally practiced that move thousands of times, but trying to do it against people who have practiced defending it thousands of times, the degree of difficulty is very high.

But from a position like that? Super sick. When I used to train BJJ I could barely ever land triangles, even when sparring. You gotta have some flexible legs in order to just whip it onto somebody at a speed where they are caught off guard.

I was surprised his left leg positioning was so accurate. It’s not like he couldn’t have gotten off his back. Fairly risky move on his end though if he had failed.

So what do you guys think about the betting/odds situation with Takanori Gomi vs Clay Guida? Gomi is the underdog at like +120 or so from what I read. Think smart money could be put on Gomi? :3

Link cause I’d do it.

How big is Bellators ring? Looks HUGE in comparison to the UFC’s.

it was listed on the betus site at those odds before teh weekend, idk if it’s shifted or not.

Check it out, Strikeforce is doing a HW gp. I’m excited for Andre vs Reem

MiddleEasy.com | Four fights have been announced for Strikeforce’s 2011 Heavyweight Grand-Prix

Rogers vs Barnett? Peace out Rogers.
Fedor vs Big Foot? Good night Big Foot.
Werdum vs Kharitonov? Hey you awake Kharitonov?
The Reem vs Arlovski? I’ll be catching Arlovski’s mouth piece from the 5th row.

Why hasn’t the UFC signed Hector Lombard?

Yall’s thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Well he was suppose to fight for them back at UFC 78 vs. Karo, but his had visa problems and thus, it never happened…I dunno why he was never offered another fight, but he has a contract with Bellator right now, so he’s not going anywhere for awhile. It’s a shame too, he’s being wasted over there, BIG TIME!

Fuck those rankings…fuck rankings PERIOD! Shit’s a JOKE unless you talking about rankings from within organizations, but once you try to get worldwide with that shit, it’s a clusterfuck. I pay next to no mind when it comes to rankings in MMA (except for the WW and LHW divisions since the UFC basically holds the monopoly on both divisions.)

I have no idea why but I always wanted to see Maia and Shields fight.

Maia would literally pick apart Shields standing up if Shields comes into that fight super flatfooted. I just want to see someone beat Shields at his own game.

And I gave up on rankings the moment Fedor tapped. That sent the P4P rankings into a frenzy.

Maaaan, it’s Rashad, if he’s shown under ANYTHING slightly positive, niggas is gonna GET AT HIM HAAAAARD! He get soo much hate, shit is comical!

^ Maybe because his best win is Forrest Griffin. Rampage looked like shit. He only drew with Tito because Tito loves to grab the fence.

Kharitonov is a match-up nightmare for Werdum. Werdum has worse takedowns than Monson AND Kharitonov is in shape. If it happens and Kharitonov beats Werdum… He’s back in the top 10.

Duh, I know he’s still under contract with them. I’m just curious to why he wasn’t offered a contract after UFC 78. Pretty sure the guy isn’t tied into a seriously long contract with Bellator either.

I just wanna see him in the UFC at either WW or MW. Either or would be interesting.

That right there is an unknown…but he’s gonna end up there sooner or later.

i saw this tweet saying mighty mouse was fighting kid at 125…KID YAMAMOTO?!
