Joe Rogans rant last night was one of the best I have heard in a long while. The best part is in that venue I’m sure the judges could hear him. A petition doesnt seem like that bad of an idea, honestly the judges the nevada athletic commision puts out there are so fucking bad Its painful to hear decisions announced these days.

The judging didnt ruin the night for me at all. Anyone with half a brain clearly knew who won the Phan/Garcia fight. They won fight of the night and will both go on to do plenty of good with the UFC.
and i’m pretty sure there isn’t some behind the scenes Garcia conspiracy going on with the judges. The judges just don’t know anything about MMA as Joe Rogan/Dana White and everyone for the past couple years since MMA has blown up in the US.

The thing that is wrong with that statement (and Joe Rogan commented on this last night) is that yeah, its a great mentality to have because:
a) It leads to more decisive outcomes/exciting definite outcomes (sub, KO, whatever)
b)pushes the fighters a bit more to do all they can as compared to coasting to an easier path to a W.
However, its reality that not all fights are going to end with one fighter ending the fight due to even matchups/styles neutralizing each other or whatever. It’s a sad, sad thing when official judges cannot be even thought of as competent and people are so afraid of letting them ponder anything about the fight. Paralleling it to basketball or football, how bad would it be if officials could not be counted on making totally correct calls and you had to score a touchdown or a basket decisively or it could be taken away? I know its not a perfect comparison but it shows the point I’m trying to make.
…it would be exactly as it is right now since… that’s exactly how it is right now. Quite a few games are won/lost as a result of bad referee calls.
