So uhh… has anyone tried to get free tickets from Dana White via twitter when an event is in your local area? I’m close to Anaheim so most likely gonna try and pick up some free tickets… hope it works out >_<
You know, I’m surprised he hasn’t brought an UFC event to the D.C. area. Verizon Center or the Comcast Center would be perfect venues. I need to check D.C.'s law on MMA again but I thought it was legal. Out of curiousity, has there been a major MMA event outdoors before?
Neck cranks are fine, hell hooks… Not at low level grappling. Neck cranks aren’t really that dangerous in training. The only time I’ve ever heard someone get injured was when an instructor let a Collegiate wrestler (from University of Minnesota I believe) come in and roll. He rolled with the instructor and the instructor was letting him pass guard etc to see if he knew submission grappling positioning. He didn’t really. He he ended up getting the neck crank and torqued it hard resulting in an injury. Should I also mention he tapped but the guy didn’t let go for a solid 3-5 seconds after.
Also, Alvarez too good
wait
why does velasquez have an S before the Z in the title? is he part polish?
The Dubai event at Yaz Island or whatever was the first outdoor UFC event.
Oh ok. The reason I aksed because I was on another martial arts site where the guy gave his review of this knockdown karate tournament that was held outside and he said that the wind was blowing the mat away during the match.
ufc brazil was outside as well, and iirc they got rain.
Gotta hold those outside events in drier climates, rain delays for a UFC would suck lol. Unless they just tent in the ring and leave the fans out to get wet, which would only suck slightly less.

I feel bad for going against Velasquez <—no S.
This dude has little things in his game that are fucking scary. He does something (that ironically Brock can do also) that very few MMA fighters can do, and that is find the opponents chin when their opponent is turtled up. That shit is an art form and only Jose Aldo can really compete, but Cain finds the sweet spot as if his fists were heat seakers. It’s amazing, because he does it so naturally.
What I am saying is, if Brock fucks up the same way he did agaisnt Carwin, he won’t get a second chance against Cain.
Buuuuuuttt… how can Cain win this fight?
On his back? HIGHLY doubtful.
From the feet? Possible, but unlikely.
From the clinch? Possible, I think the clinch is Brock’s weakness.
From the top? Only way it gets there is if Cain gets a good punch. A good trip is unlikely.
Sub from the top? HA!
But Brock.
Good range
Great weight
He can’t be kept on his back
He has good submissions.
I think Cain’s a better fight, but I think Brock is gonna win. Sorry Mehicans.
