Im actually a fan of Dana… but he is being a complete fuckhead on this one.
Rashad’s comment was just as bad if not worse. His comment falls under the category as a “joke” which was the reasoning he fired Torres. Evans had obviously had that joke in his back pocket and was just waiting for the opportunity to break it out… it wasn’t a heat of the moment kind of comment. Im not 100% sure but im pretty sure I heard Miguels tweet on an episode of Always Sunny lately… could be wrong.
Bottom line is if you are a Golden boy Dana can make sense of shitty things you say. This was obviously a PR move that came at a perfect time for Dana. “Gee if I fire Miguel then people won’t start questioning how we discipline our fighters because of what Rashad did. Miguel is past his prime anyways he isn’t making us much money anymore anyhow”.
Chael Sonnen can make fun of an entire nation by basically calling it complete shithole and mocking the people that live there by basically calling them uncivilized. Rashad Evans can poke fun at an actual current rape situation but its ok because it’s just in the heat of the moment and he was trying to stick it to Phil. Yet Miguel isn’t allowed to explain himself over something like this?

Machida vs Jones is like Ryu vs (Black) Ken. We all know that Ken was the more athletic of the two but obviously that didn’t help Ken get wins over Ryu during head to head fights. Damn I just sounded like a dweeb for that but that’s how I see this fight. Jones is flashy but when he front kicked Rampage in the face and Rampage didn’t seem phased by it, that made me see Jones in a whole different light. Maybe Jones will prove me wrong but maybe Machida will be the one to knock him down a couple of notches.

question: has the retirement age of muay thai changed? i know the internet has spread that idea of 16 is when most retire cause of the damage. but it seems i see alot of guys in their 20’s doin it still. like legit thai people, with new health supplements and just wider spread of health information in general has the idea of retirement at 16 changed?

16? no one retires at 16. early 20s alot of them start to think about it and start training instead. lots of them still fight throughout their 20s. I know a guy that’s fighting tonight that’s 29 and his brother fought last week and he’s 29 too.
if you get injured and can’t fight any more that’s one thing, i wouldn’t call that retiring though. id call that not having enough money to get your torn acl fixed, i know guys that still try to fight with a fucked knee.
