1st time I seen Jorge was his fight vs. Loiseau at UFC 44 I think…I remember being in awe at this dude’s heart! Loiseau cut his head up in like seven different places due to his elbows

Lol you know that was definitely either a german or someone who was really anti-Sadollah. Casual fans generally really want to see stand-ups or quick submissions. If there’s casual fans genuinely complaining about boring fights it’s either because they don’t understand grappling or they don’t understand Machida fighting which are two things that definitely didn’t happen in that fight.
He does what Rickson did. Even back in the day people bitched about it.
Stand up fights can be boring to casuals. Especially if they aren’t really brawls. Otherwise K-1 would have had more success in the states IMO.

the majority of “stand up” fights in the ufc are boring cause they aren’t good strikers. It’s two guys that throw sloppy 1-2s for 3 rounds, because they think fans just want to see a stand up fight or a KO.
