He also “dares” for his opponents to stand and go toe to toe with him… then he goes for a takedown because he is getting lit up on the feet lol.
i think he got sucked into the idea of it being a punchers match…its kinda like barry vs crocop. they both were sucked into a stand up war and had standup in their mind…and got fuckin troooolllled

Sucked in? That’s the fight he wanted, a pure striking battle and Lytle was going to give it to him. He had no business even thinking taking it to the ground since Lytle has a dangerous ground game…one way more dangerous than his own. I can agree that he got sucked into the battle to the degree he forgot about throwing more kicks/knees/clinch work…but he called Lytle out before he lost to Condit…finally got the fight and ate bombs until he got choked. Guillotined off of his own takedown attempt…
i feel bad, cause it was clear hardy was rocking lytle. just couldnt figure out how to keep at it.
nah it was clear hardy was making lytle dizzy…and if i heard correctly he said that hardy hit him the hardest he ever been hit.

Man I dont like MMA-Fighting.com’s glorifying Lytles retirement just because he goes out on a couple of wins. Great fighters who retire after a couple of bad losses is too bad, but hey the fought and gave/tried to give the fans a show.
I think Lytles retirement is a damn shame, but understandable. I wouldnt have liked him less even if he decided to 2 more and lose though.
what are these mma fighters doing in there lives that they cant be caking off of some teaching/seminar money. like seriously…karate instructors for decades have been fine living off of teaching just 1 school. what makes these guys like jen just not walk away…is it really not the money?
