Diaz got gypped out of his win over Gomi due to THC.
So silly, but I guess “rules iz rules”.
how was Overeem supposed to perform well the way Werdum was fighting?
I still think hell win the tournament but if he goes to UFC I dont see him beating Cain or Junior.
oh man that was the funniest shit ever. like that shit musta still been hella demoralizing to gomi…to know he got his ass whooped by a stoner.
C’mon son :wtf:
hahahahahahahahahahahahah
Maybe by not getting punched in the face so much?
wasnt that really just in the third. i dont think he cared cause it didnt hurt him. i dont think he was thinking points at that time.
He’s just lucky that the judges weren’t thinking points, either, because he would have lost that fight if they were.
I gave it to Werdum based mostly on the fact that Overeem forgot to hit him back.
i had overeem due to the damage he def was dealing in rounds 1 and 2…plus he was super aggressive the whole fight. even if you give werdum was tryin to punch…def not dealin any damage…his retreat to butt scoot and him not being aggressive at all til like the third. had this been a 5 round fight though i mighta had my opinion switched. cuz it was clear overeem was gassing.
I honestly didnt see Werdum out striking Reem. I mean if he was, Reem would have a bruise/cut/mark on him but he was cleaner than holy water. The punches Werdum threw looked like they were either barely clipping Reem or hitting his arms.
Reem counter punching wasnt such a great strategy. I mean even with Werdum constanty dropping and praying for him to jump into his guard, Reem should have been really aggressive in the stand up for the first round. But I cant say Reem looked like the threat he was in the K-1 tourney, he needs to stop gassing so hard. There would have been no way Werdum would have gone past the 1st round if Reem came out and just did what he did to Rogers, minus the GnP.
Barnett doing a pro wrestling style match before the Rogers fight. Cuts a promo after as well. http://www.mmafighting.com/2011/06/16/at-strikeforce-workouts-josh-barnett-decides-to-put-on-a-show/
Its hard to say if Reem could have done damaging GnP without getting an arm or a leg caught. But when he had Werdum’s back and wasnt throwing any bombs, I was scratching my head.
I was disappointed he didnt. Werdum was just laying there holding on to dear life because he knew those 40 lbs of whoop ass turned into 40 lbs of cant get anything the fuck going.
I do agree that most of these guys need to be in a fight for your spot environment.
tyson griffin musta pissed off someone in the judges circle cuz he def won his like last 2-3 fights.
I think Kongo lives due to physique factor and because he’s a heavyweight. I think Daddy is definitely gone if he loses his next fight.
you guys need to stop smoking, overeem clearly won that fight. he was landing the harder shots and scored multiple throws. werdum landed more flurries, but that had as much to do with the fact that he would fall to the ground anytime he got touched as it did with his actual standing work rate.
They already stated that all those throws didn’t count as takedowns because he didn’t establish an advantageous position afterwards. Strategy wise, standing up and pressing the taunt button until Werdum gets up is an advantageous position for Reem, but scoring wise it’s not. Should they give points to a fighter that wants to stand, and rather than bring them to the ground and establish position, chooses to straight chuck someone across the cage after a poor shot? Maybe they should, but they don’t. Unless they’re keeping track of all that as “octagon control” or something, in which case I have literally NO idea how they award points for that. And let’s not lose sight of the facts here, Werdum punched Reem in the face more. There’s no dispute about that.
Also Kongo is still in the UFC because he’s a heavyweight. Otherwise he woulda been cut a WHILE back. I’m thinking him, Griffin and Stevenson all get cut after this card.
you do realize that fightmetric and compustrike stats have no bearing on who actually wins a fight, right? if mma was scored like olympic boxing then you’d have a point, but it’s not (thank god).
