Charging with the new quick action button would be a little too much. The quick action button wouldn’t have been necessary if they just made some minor changes with how the game interpreted simultaneous button presses.

1)yes, old means still apply. you can grab w/ 4/6+a+d OR 4/6+e.
2)No. a/b/c/d are still functional.
3)yes.
E actually has some very odd functions:
j.5e = j.c
j.2e = j.b
while performing chains:
5e = 5c
2e = 2b
4/6e = 5a
edit: I just (sorta) confirmed that Sensei will not be able to hold orbs w/ the E button. While using wlen i tried: 5c>236**[e]** which gave me 5c>236a. thats correct. she cant charge her ice using the E button so one may conclude that using E to hold orbs is unlikely. LMAO sorry aoko-scrubs, hit the training mode a bit harder and maybe you’ll get somewhere.

So then…if you whiff an E airthrow, then you’ll whiff a C instead of a shield. That’s pretty cool…but wtf to the other stuff.
umm, no.
the notation says j.5e (as in neutral). airthrow is 4/6+e. this will still give you shield on whiff.
So you can hold an orb with A and grab now. This makes air combos while keeping an orb out a little easier to learn…maybe…
Based on the odd functions you listed, it looks more like a button that changes its function depending on what direction you are pressing, and can’t be held(1 frame release?). It also looks like it works independently from other buttons.

cba being the order of priority on what comes out if nothing else can. I can’t think of a situation where you could get a shield to come out with it(in a chain it will be A, outside it will whiff a grab), so can’t exactly test for that, which also makes it moot.

We’re talking about in the air though. With AD whiffed air throws, if you did it right, you should always get a shield instead of j.A. I just misread.
By doing an E air throw, your using a different command for E since your using a different direction.
Since air 4/6 e = air 4/6 ad, you will still get the whiff.
Oh well I guess…
Er, I messed up with that post, you’re correct.
Sayid(or anyone) could you please double check hold A, grab with E? It is the only thing that I see that stops this button from being technically very simple.
Also “4/6e = 5a”, is it 100% 5a, and not 4/6a?
What happens if you are holding a, and do 6e in a chain? Both one that did previously have a in it, and one that didn’t.

Ok, watching those ver.B matches…I saw the button icon change colors. Does it do that when you successfully reduce damage? Also, it looks like you have to press the button for every hit, is that true?
